Hello,

Just got this card. Went to pay some bills but could only pay one of around $500 and it won’t let me pay any others, transaction declined. Understand it is a charge card and the algorithm may increase my spending limit as I make smaller purchases and pay them off is that correct?

Let’s say I have a $2.5k bill. If I pay that amount onto the card from my bank via BPay, then pay the bill on the Amex, will that transaction/payment of bill still be counted as eligible spend for the sign on bonus points? Don’t know why but I swear I read something like “prepaid expenses are not included in eligible spend” or I could be making that up.

thanks!

This is strange, even as a new cardholder your informal limit should be far above $500. Suggest you call Amex on the number on your card and ask what’s going on.

I spoke with their online chat and they said I need to make small charges and pay them off and my cap will change. They weren’t very clear though.

Can anyone advise on bonus Qantas points eligible spend, will the transaction still count as eligible if I preload the card with my own money before making the transactions?

Thanks

I was recently notified that my QF Business CC (which pre-dates QBR cards) is being discontinued from early September and they’re going to cancel it…😢

They’re offering a promo to sign up for a QBR card: half the annual fee for the first year and 170,000 QFF pts for $6k within 3 mths.

But I’m not sure I want one nor will be technically eligible (my company is making less than the min requirement at the moment).

Also, points earn go direct to the QBR account? (I already have a QBR acc and know how they work but would probably prefer the points to go to my personal acc).

Anyway, pondering what other options I might have? Not keen on forking out for the Plat charge card. I might just resort to converting my existing personal Gold CC to QF Ultimate card?
