Amex Platinum to end Shangri-La Golden Circle Jade Membership from April 2021

The unusual thing is when I first applied through AMEX (in 11/20), it listed my Shangri-La membership as being valid only until 11/21, with a note on needing to achieve the 10 stays before this date to continue maintaining status. So yes, 12 months when I had applied - but my situation was quite different to two of my friends who immediately had their status show up as valid until 31/12/2022. We all applied and were approved within the same week.

At the time it struck me as unusual that only I had to maintain a stay requirement to extend it beyond 12 months, but sometime between then and now, my app has updated my membership to the same expiry. I'm not quite sure what happened...

A bit unusual in my instance, so I'm not sure if this answers your question directly.
accor platinum was the same before it vanished and reappeared as accor plus

I've received the email too advising of the extension until end of next year. Checked my account but it still says it's due to expire end of this year.

Likewise, which is a shame. If not using FHR or Luxury Circle rates, Jade status really is quite good.

Agreed. I've landed up booking Shangri La hotels a few times because of this status. Without it I wouldn't have booked.

yep, same!
traders in KL was my goto
had also booked the one in Sydney to coincide with vivid but we all know what happened

Mine still says till end of this year :(

Its a broader extension for all golden circle members. I had Diamond in 2019 and it is now extended until end of 2022.
 
Update on those who have status via the Platinum Charge card. I emailed to ask why my status still shows as expiring at the end of 2021. My bolding. So things are looking up I'd say.
