is that something us plebs can join too? for $349 its worth it!
I currently pay ~AU$200 to join accor plus via Fiji which gives me the free night & 50% off dining discount for 2x.
I'm no Robinson Crusoe mate - plenty others here also enjoy same benefits.

I spend 20+ nts in Sofitel Hyland Shanghai each year - I email Reservations Manager direct and she always allocates me CHEAPEST room rate and UPGRADES me to Junior Suite / Prestige Suite with Exec Lounge access and full breakfast - easily $100+ value per night - in my situation the addition of Accor Silver is valueless.

Is this your only Accor stay in a year? Would have thought you would get to Plat pretty easily without relying on the Accor plus.

I qualify on stays easily enough so I have no issues with understanding the benefits of platinum but some of the comments seemed to be from irregular visitors so the status may have had limited benefit it seemed

Looking at the new benefits of Accor Plus any interesting 50% off dining bill around Sydney for 2 people anyone have have experience with .

Also what is the best value property to redeem your free night

Has anybody who has 'freshly' applied for A+ (no previous relationship at all with Accor) received any sort of communication from Accor at all?

Applied on Tuesday and I assumed that I would have received some sort of acknowledgment by now (we are processing etc). I think they gave themselves up to ten working days to complete the application but I would have thought they would like to keep you 'updated'.

Same with the AFR subscription. Applied on Tuesday and not a peep since then...

Maybe AMEX is holding back until the annual fee hits my account on Tuesday.

This seems pretty much inline with how Amex process these things.

This is how I was told it work by Amex during the week, but only for the Accor plus. AFR was available straight away, not that I’ve heard back on that registration

Basically SHS is only Accor hotel I use regularly - couple nts a year in Ibis/ Mercure in Germany in obscure locations. Just checked and 16nts in SHS in 2017 - 8nts so far in 2018 with another 6 or so to go - hopefully Plat will still be honoured each year at renewal.

You only need 14k points (or 60 nights) to maintain plat so how does last year and this year look? Because I suspect you would get close with that many nights in Sofitel.

No I never get close - but at renewal time I just say I will renew if I maintain plat and so far they have agreed - I fully understand that might not continue but whilst it does all is good.

What? Scarlett restaurant is no longer granting Accor Plus 50% discount? Since when??
Must be pretty recent. I just went there a few weeks ago and used AP no problem. Go to TablePlus website, some restaurants now says AP is not accepted.

With a group of 2 adult 2 kids . Do you get 50% or just 25% as member + 3 guest

What if the two adults each have an Accor Plus card(ie. two separate Accor Plus membership cards) in this case of 2 adults plus 2 kids? Then does this qualify for 50% discount instead of 25%?
Yes.

Although my experience with 2 kids under 12 is that I always get 50% off the adults meals with 1 card.

Thanks edman. I have heard that if the restaurant is strict, the kids will need to order from the kids menu without discount and the adults only will get discount, but didn't say what will the discount rate be if the children order from the main menu.

I haven't received any confirmation/acknowledgement either. However on the enrolment page for the various hotel status programs, my accor plus enrolment is showing as pending but the AFR subscription still gives me the option to enrol (and not showing as pending despite already applying). I'll give it the full 10 working days before giving Amex a call.

We are a family of 4 and always use our card. My two kids eat full price off the kids menu and the two adults get 50% off.
