AMEX Life Insurance - 20k pt Bonus

I cancelled during the cooling off period, so got reimbursed. The whole thing happened in the last 2 weeks of platinum velocity which I was going axe (got it during last year's promo when I got 120k and a mate got 60k for the referal) so I just went for it. Was astonished I managed to thread the needle. I recognise it may harm the prospects of a further promo but I kind of figured there can't be too many who did what I did. And if there feel free to scapegoat - I'm pretty sure there are more serial offenders out there then this clean living patriot.

Nevertheless very nice surprise, especially as I was about to call and cancel all policies earlier this week but forgot and got charged. Not complaining now...

Are you sure the 5K aren't for the supplementary cards you might have ordered during the recent promo. I had bonuses on this months statement on all 3 cards, but only have one life policy so Im guessing it was for that?

You might be right however many others are getting them and supp card bonuses usually go on within days. My last supp card was 3 months ago

Also my bonus came on the life insurance payment transaction too

Strange, I got a bonus 5000 points on the policy with my reserve card, but no bonus for the policy on my platinum charge.

Positive. I didn't order any supp cards and got 5k on my Velocity Plat but not on the Edge.

I'm sure it's insurance too since the description clearly says Amex life insurance bonus

So Mrs NoName received some promotional material from AMEX in the mail on Friday for 5k bonus pts for taking out an insurance policy. I suspect that this may be the reason people above have received the bonus (albeit in error).

I haven't received this extra bonus myself but my latest premium was only charged on the 25th October. Not sure when the latest promo began or if anyone received the bonus before this date but I will be keeping a eye out on the 25th of this month to see if anything comes through.
