Amex hard pull

Hi Guys,
I wonder if anyone knows does amex do hard pull (credit check/enquiry) every time you make a new application with them, even if your are existing customer.
I know in US existing customer quite often get to skp hard pull on their new application, and just wonder if Amex Australia is the same these days.
Any help is appreciated.

They always have when I have applied. I have previously asked them to convert one card to another, but told need to make separate application with consequent 'hard pull'.

Yep, every time I've done one they've done a hard pull. Even with the Reserve companion card that was applied for a couple of weeks after the plat charge.
