American express - sydney airport express lane

This seems to be the official AMEX link with numerous benefits limited to SYD airport only.

Some benefits like free trolley are scheduled to end by June 2015 etc...

Some benefits are extended to ANZ, QANTAS and Westpac Black / Earth AMEX co-branded cards e.g. the AMEX lounge access.

And no, the lowly Plat Edge is nowhere to be seen justifying its "lowly" tag.

Would the OP be able to provide a link, please?

Not sure why they are still carrying express arrivals cards. She mentioned something about not using SmartGate?

It must be as Dnicoll posted - to use at Passport Control and not at the Declare/Non-Declare lanes. But at Passport Control I would always regard SmartGates as being faster than dealing with an officer, at least in my experience. But the Red Declare trick still holds for me - I will walk through that lane every time as it's always shorter, and then simply tell the officer "oh, nothing to declare I'm Fast Track". I believe this is the quickest way at Syd.

Tried it 3 weeks ago and it works as stated. They ask for how many people are going through (my guess is they charge amex per user). On another note, the new lounge is pretty disappointing

Didn't see an Amex express lane when I went through SYD on 24 October but I did access the Amex lounge.

Was relatively quiet (was there from 2-3pm) and they still had their lunch menu going (quiche, base fish curry and rice, sausage rolls, party pies, salad, etc). Also had friendly staff behind the bar so could get a G&T and glass of bubbles. I did like the fact the lady on the front desk reminded me to take a bottle of water from the fridge to take on the plane. There were also potato chips and sandwiches which would be good for those flying Scoot or AirAsia

No such this as an "AMEX lane" just follow the signs to "Express Path" and wave your card at the entrance, they'll give you Express Path vouchers that rather than displaying an airline logo (if you were to fly C or F) display the AMEX logo. These vouchers will be collected at the end of the Express Path.

Same here.

Edit: This was in May 2015, when I was provided with the Express Pass when I produced my Platinum Card as I entered the Express Path

When I went through in Sept I just flashed my card and they waved me through, then same at security screening. No pass issued to me

Where is the express path? I think I've only ever seen the normal queues and once was directed to the massive queue when I showed the pass.

Follow the Express Path signs, if you cannot find them ask at check-in. Smaller entrance but well signposted.

Does anyone know if the express lane is still available for departure at Sydney airport? T&C says valid between 20/1/15-19/1/16.
