Re: AMEX Explorer referral

Not working for me either.

Just need to be patient I think. This isn't normal for AMEX. Likely to be working again within 24 hours I'd say. Perhaps even sooner.

Could be.

Just checked the link I posted earlier and the one I can now generate via AMEX and they do look different.

If it's any use to you my new link is :

http://amex.com.au/refer/Tfy7a

Remember you earn 10,000 extra and I earn 20,000 extra points.

Although the link I posted earlier in message 164 does still seem to be working (at least for me):

Re: AMEX Explorer referral

Likewise, I have found this link to be working OK, maybe there is an issue with their url shortener?

Earn 2 Gateway reward points (equivalent to 1.5 velocity/krisflyer points ) spent per $1 (excl govt bodies - 0.5 gateway points per $. Although keep an eye out as some can be paid using Paypal via Postbillpay for the full earn rate).

Can be redeemed for : Asia Miles, Emirates Skywards, Etihad Guest, Malaysian Airlines Enrich, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, THAI Royal Orchid Plus, Velocity Frequent Flyer or Air New Zealand Airpoints

Includes $400 travel credit, frequent amex statement credits, 2 American Express

Airport Lounge entries and smartphone screen insurance which more than cover the $395 annual fee.

Successful applicants will receive 110,000 gateway points after $1,500 spend within 3 months (an extra 10,000 points by using referral). As referrer I receive 20,000 points.

Re: AMEX Explorer referral

I found out about this card and the awesome sign-up bonus thanks to this thread/forum and was happy to click through a referral link. If anyone still needs a link and is looking to gift me some referral points, please use this link http://amex.com.au/refer/7Rugq - and help me try and get into a Singapore Suite, which is my new points dream after seeing so many trip reports!

The normal amex bonus is 100,000 points, with this referral get an extra 10k for 110k points, and I'll get 20k points for you using the link. Min spend $1,500 to achieve bonus.

Plenty of benefits as you can tell, $395 fee, but $400 amex travel credit received, insurances and amex lounges passes etc. Transfer to VA, Asia Miles, SQ and more!

Re: AMEX Explorer referral

Only a few days to go everyone!

If you apply through the referral link below, you get 110000 Gateway Membership Rewards bonus points instead of usual 100000 bonus points. That is extra 10000 Gateway MR Points that you don't get if you apply via standard Amex promo link. Please see the referral link below:

APPLY HERE

PS: I also get 20000 Bonus Points myself, but it is a win, win situation for both of us!

So 110000 Gateway Bonus Points equates to 82500 Airline Points:

- Virgin Australia Velocity
- Singapore Airlines Krisflyer
- Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
- Emirates Skywards
- Etihad Guest
- Thai Airways Royal Orchid
- Malaysia Airlines Enrich

Or 825 Air New Zealand Airpoint Dollars.

So what can 82500 Airline Miles get you? Here are some of the examples:

Singapore Krisflyer:
- One-way Business Class from Australia to Europe served by Singapore Airlines (80750 Krisflyer Miles + tax)
- One-way First/Suite Class from Australia to Hong Kong served by Singapore Airlines (63500 Krisflyer Miles + tax)
- One-way First/Suite Class from Australia to Tokyo served by Singapore Airlines (80750 Krisflyer Miles + tax)

Cathay Pacific Asia Miles:
- Return Business Class trip from Australia to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific (80000 Asia Miles + tax)

This is a fantastic deal! Just signing up the card and spend $1500 within first 3 months, and you get a free Business or First Class trip ticket with it! If you are interested, please apply via the following link:

Re: AMEX Explorer referral

Am I understanding this correctly, that by taking out this card I would be able to travel in a suite to Singapore, or to Europe in business class? Is it this simple? Apart from the mandatory spend of $1,500 in 2 months upon receipt of the card, what needs to be done to convert the Amex points into Kris Flyer?

That all depends on how many points you require to redeemed this reward. Have you had a look at the dates you want to travel and the points that are required for that flight? You don't actually mention where you are flying from in Australia. Different flights have different points requirements.

You need to link your AMEX account and Kris Flyer account or what ever other scheme that you want to transfer the points to. This is very easy to do with AMEX once you have set up your online account. Then you select the number of points to transfer.

I haven't looked at dates yet and I haven't joined KF yet. I'm fairly flexible with dates. Happy to depart from SYD or Canberra.

Skyhawk, there are also some taxes to pay in addition to the FF points. (These can be high) It can take a bit of work to find award seats that suit your destination and dates, if you can plan your trip around available seats you will find it a lot easier. Another issue can be how many seats, if just one it will be easier than two. Three or more may need to be on different flights.

I just checked the link in my earlier post and it doesn't work.

Here is my new link. http://amex.com.au/refer/cVayn

If you use it and are successful (and eligible), you will get 110k (10k extra), and I will get 20k.

With only 9 days until the bonus points offer finishes, if you've been thinking about applying for the Explorer card now is the time to do it.

By using a referral link you'll receive an extra 10,000 points so you receive 110,000 Membership Rewards points if you apply by 30 January 2017, are approved for an American Express Explorer Credit Card, and spend $1,500 in your first 2 months of Card Membership and I receive 20,000 Membership Rewards points for providing the referral. I received 110,000 points for using a referral here a few weeks ago after learning all of the advantages of this card here on AFF on the "Explorer Credit Card (New AMEX Card!)" thread http://www.australianfrequentflyer....ions/explorer-credit-card-new-amex-77925.html as well as this thread.

Thanks to anyone who would like to use my link:

Full details of the card are listed on this page on the Amex website:

This is what I posted yesterday but the link doesn't appear to be working so here is an updated referral link in case it works for anyone wanting to sign up before January 30 and you would like to use my referral. As listed in my original post you will receive an extra 10,000 points so 110,000 points by using my link and I receive 20,000 points:

I'd suggest you join KF and then check the dates that you are interested in. You will quickly see how many points you need + the taxes required.

I have just received my explorer card last week and have successfully called up to have them switch my rewards program to gateway to get the bonus 110,000 points ( i've also used a referral link from this thread), just need to spend $1500.
Please use my referral link to get receive a bonus 10,000 points totalling 110,000 (instead of 100,000) points by using my link and I receive 20,000 points. Make sure you call up to get them to switch your rewards program to gateway (if you already have an amex with ascent) before you spend $1500 otherwise you will not receive the bonus pts.

I need some opinion.I currently have a platinum charge card and have applied and received the Explorer card.the cards are not currently linked and I'm wanting to do the point transfer loophole.
Should I link them up under the same username or leave them separate.

Last few days!

Some amazing value to be obtained through this card using SPG & Marriott. I've been able to redeem my 110k AMEX MR points for about $3k of value through a hotel stay in New York!

Feel free to use my sign-up here: http://amex.com.au/refer/eliismEjw3

Disclaimer: You get 110k MR points, I get a 20k referral reward

Leave them unlinked and spend the $1,500. Once the 110,000 points post to your Gateway account, link to continue earning 2 Ascent Premium ppd.

Once the 110,000 points has landed in addition to linking the Explorer to your Plat you can also merge the two online accounts under the one username if you wish. You can do this (merging of the two accounts under the one username) online using the tools at left of screen. Linking of the Explorer to the Plat must be don by calling up.
