I'm planning on travelling to SEA in Oct for some more personal development that I pay for myself. At least that way I get to book my preferred carriers ...
Will be doing QF trans-pac in Y+, and only need to getto SEA. When I did this trip 2 years ago, I also needed to get to SAN and SFO, so a bit different (& can no longer see my SC earn online - althgh searching for them made me spot my F AA AUS-DFW flight in Nov 2011 hasn't posted, will chase that up).

Looking at AA, if I want to attempt a straightforward, with luggage, mini status run, my best cost options are LAX-SAN/SJC/SMF-SEA. LAX to any of the S**s will be American Eagle, so Y-only flights.

What would be my SC earn for LAX on American Eagle on LAX-SMF/SAN/SJC? 20 SCs? Full Y rather than F, right?
This is on "First Special" fares.

Anything other than Y class that earns (e.g. B, H, M or N) will only credit as "Discount Economy".

O & Q class won't earn at all.

Of course, thanks Serfty. Expanded those selections now I'm at home and the Eagle flights are mostly N or S. With what I'm looking at right now, the only "better" option is via DFW in regular YUPPs. Hmmm ... more playing required ....

While it's not a specific answer to your question, if all you are looking for is QF SCs then why not fly LAX-SEA with Alaska Airlines? While not a formal OneWorld partner you do get SCs and points on QF code share flights - not sure if they have to be booked as QFxx_x flights or whether an ASxx_ flight will do. After flying transpacific the last thing I want to do is mess around with more connections than I need to...

Booking on AS metal with ASxx_x flight numbers can earn points but not SC's.

QFyyyy and AAzzzz codeshares on AS metal can earn both points and SC's.

Do you have to phone QF to book a QF codeshare on AA metal if you have an existing AUS-US QF booking or can this be done on the net?

Huh? "QF codeshare on AA metal" has little to do with this thread.

QF codeshares can be purchased online, over the 'phone via an agent etc., but generally in conjunction with a QF connecting flight. Are you thinking of changing an existing booking?

Sorry I have confused you. Typo.
Just a question about how you would make a QF code share booking on AS metal.
I have an existing return QF J fare to JFK.
Can I do a LAX-SEA booking as above as a QF code share on AS after I have booked the QF fare?
(Just for info as I actually booked an AA coded flight.)

Generally you would need to book the codeshare at the same time as you booked the international flight.

It can be done after the initial booking (in believe) as "Conjunction Tickets" but you'd need an agent for that.
