I've booked a First Class domestic flight in the US on American Airlines, and am wondering how Qantas treat that fare class for Status Credits. Almost all US domestic airlines have two classes, First and Economy. Will I accrue QFF status credits at our Business or First class rate?

If it's First then it will accrue at First earning rates. If not sure look at the fare class and the earning points table.

Most likely F status credits. It depends what fare class you're booked in.

Thank you for the prompt response. I've got two flights booked with AA, and the Booking Codes are A and P, which are clearly First Class. That's great news. So even though the flights are fairly short, with the fare costing far less than a Business class fare would in Australia, I get a higher rate of Status Credits. I originally booked with Delta, but when I realized that I could earn good SCs with AA, I switched.

Mind you, I've never thought much of US domestic airlines, their lounges, their food, or even their international ones, but I'll enjoy the SCs.

Phily, just hold your boarding passes until after your SCs post as one of those classes (A or P) sometimes causes qantas grief and will accidentally credit you discount economy. Has happened to me frequently.
Quick email always fixes it up in a day

A and P will earn F SCs. The only good thing about US airlines is the status credits.

+ the taxes - booked a First AAward Japan-USA using AAdvantage, taxes were USD45.10 (FWIW, a LAX-NRT AAward has taxes of USD2.50).
