Amenity kit outrage

OK, so which one do you actually use and re-use as your own DIY amenity carry-on pack ?

For me, it's the TG F Rimowa case: cute looking, not too large, enough room for what I need and a hard case.

The EK F is worth a look but that would get scratches easily (faux leather) and not as space efficient.

CX / SQ F is a soft case - not to my liking.

QF F: not even under consideration

I use a little black Oroton bag - cant even remember which airline gave me that.

EK F for me. Its a good size and has a couple of elastic pouches within it, to keep stuff a bit orderly. (And the condition of the exterior is of no importance to me :) ).

If it wasn't that, it would be a United F from a few years ago. Quite large, and very well organised (zips in half with zipped mesh both halves).

I prefer see-through amenity bag for travel, so much easier to pack and also retrieve stuff from the bag. No airlines have this, probably because they don't want their pax to be disappointed looking at the contents before opening the kit :D. My current fav amenity bag is the QF Oroton bag, very good quality and big enough to put an extra change of clothes in it as a carry on, in case the check-in luggage goes AWOL. MH is quite thoughtful to include a little bottle of hand sanitizer in their kit which I carry with me all the time for wiping down the TV controllers in hotels, etc.

+1 for TG baby Rimowa, looks good inside full size Rimowa luggage :D

I also like OZ F kit, best soft case I had so far.

Gday

I reuse the JAL Loewe F one. It is small, looks nice and seems like it will last. For the fellas they also gave out a little white hard plastic cased Shiseido pack that had a cleanser, toner and moisturiser. Very useful.

Agree with someone above re MH giving a little hand sanitiser. Also very useful.

Pele.

LX F (Bally with two zippered compartments) as my washbag

BA F x 2 (Anya Hindmarch Flying Boat & Tower Bridge) as packing cubes for clothes

LH/TG F (Rimowa) as packing cubes for technology/cables etc.

I use a Zegna Cx F kit that I repack. The EK one is a tad too large

Was just handed a TG pack from a neighbour - this one is a Samsonite branded, zipped "pencil case style".
Is this a new style or an older version (moisturiser expire in 2017)? Going to use this baby for all my cables - nice and soft so can squeeze it into my laptop bag rather nicely.

Must be new J amenities replacing Porsche Design.

I wonder if it also means TG will introduce new Samsonite kits in F instead of Rimowa.

Finnair have a good system - they hand out a bag, but inside is a list with additional items available on request - e.g. socks, mouthwash, etc. would minimise wastage for the airline and avoid the passenger having to sort through stuff they're not interested in.

A great idea - I *never* use the eye mask or ear plugs, only rarely use the socks. Would much rather mouthwash, a comb combo and lip balm over those items. Even if I don't end up using the pack, those items would be more useful for family members etc.

..... Would much rather mouthwash, a comb combo and lip balm over those items.....

I wish mouthwash was universal - nothing like waking up on a long haul, after a few hours heavy-duty lounge time, followed by onboard meal etc, involving everything from JD to malbec to Baileys. The Holy Trifecta in any airline kit should be mouthwash, toothbrush/paste, and a comb. :)

The socks, eyeshades, ##@&??! shoe horn, etc, are just a waste of space. Give me a useful bag, the Holy Trifecta, and a nice special selection of some cosmetics (?) - lipbalm, cream, whatever, but quality - like L Occitane. A small vial of aftershave/perfume would be a Godsend also - would save me sneaking into duty free shops for a free splash of some tester.

Couldn't agree with you more. This is where MH got it right. Decent size bottle of mouthwash and toothpaste, comb with mirror and hand sanitiser. A little box of mint would complete the perfect kit.

On our 2 flights on TG J in May we got 1 Porsche & 1 Samsonite. The Samsonite are indeed nice little bags

The only problem is the MH mouthwash is a bit too sugary for my liking. They need the original yellow listerine, the stuff that really burns.

Edit: But yes any mouthwash is excellent.

Similar to EK F I picked up a few days ago...

Will be flying again in 12 hours...

The EK F kit you've posted here looks slightly different to the one I picked up early last year on DXB-MEL.
Is it still Bvlgari ? The one I have is a lighter shade of brown and looks slightly larger.
Contents seems the same though.

I still haven't recovered from CX changing their amenity kit provider from Ermenegildo Zegna to Aesop lol just months before my F flight with them. From top shelf creme de la creme European to bottom of the barrel Aussie lol what a joke. A mate of mine just flew SQ Suites and reported that they've downgraded their amenity kits from their previous Givenchy class product so downgrading of amenity kits is not a practice just limited to CX.

As for EY lol that is beyond a joke while it had decent contents but they unfortunately went for a "traditional look" (read: cost cutting) and in effect the actual case looks like something my 4-year old niece weaved together in kindergarten.

Which airlines give the best amenity kits these days in F ?

EK I'm a big fan. My wife loves the red QF F bag. And from what I can tell AF looks top notch, and Garuda not far behind. Any others that are notable ?
