Amenity kit outrage

The problem is I have seen full size hand/body moisturisers etc taken from the bathrooms :( So when you board, it's there ..... half way through the flight, its magically disappeared into someone's hand carry.

Wow! Never witnessed that myself but stealing amenities is a pathetic, if not criminal behaviour.

You might have a hard time arguing about criminal behaviour.

I agree it's definitely poor form though, but then anything that relies on a modicum of social fairness and order on an aircraft (i.e. almost everything) is liable to be "abused" with no tangible repercussions forthcoming.

I haven't seen anyone actually take the TG F bathroom amenities before, but it might explain some of the times that I've found such amenities missing when they should normally be there (e.g. no fragrance spray, hand cream...). For some airlines, there are pump bottles which are practically bolted down, so they are much more difficult to remove.

The approach of simply providing a range of amenities rather than complete kits isn't new - VS did this with their old black shoe bag kits, and I believe NH also does this (the kit contents are minimal and other amenities are distributed on trays, usually small flat packets). SQ, as we all know, also do this in J, except the amenities are found in the bathrooms.

Yes, wow is my only response too. I'm shocked -- but probably shouldn't be.

Just out of interest - this is a different sort of amenity kit - it is what Iberia gave me when I managed to arrive in Spain with my luggage still touring the USA :/ Not beautiful - a definite non-Kate-Spade design bag :)

If it's not bad enough to feel at loss when you have no luggage, at least with the Iberia kit youy can dress up and pretend you are a refugee or hospital patient.

I know someone who claimed to have taken a Johnny Walker Blue Label off a F flight, and I have no reason to doubt their claim.

I didnt think my TG F amenity kits were worth much.

A generous chap on Ebay disagreed.....

At least you had boxer shorts!! Swiss's 'service recovery' pack has a pair of 28' waist y-fronts  Try putting those on and you would be a hospital patient.

But they did give a 300 franc allowance for emergency clothes.

I got the QF emergency pack when the bag handlers went on strike, 7-8 years ago... used the toothbrush and paste, shirt and shorts apart from being hideous was sized for a 10 year old.

Thankfully ... i could wash my flying clothes at work (interstate office)

About $18,000 for MEL- LAX in F and about $12,000 for business you don't even get a decent useable toothbrush. Total value of the kit contents is about $5. About 10 items worth between 25c and 75c at wholesale. And it's nearly all garbage that I wouldn't use in 'real' life. I usually keep the little Colgate. The rest I leave on the plane. I'm referring to QF but most are +/- the same.

I'm not that fussed what's in an amenity kit but I do collect them. Usually give them to mum or as I did recently gave one each to my fiancées mum and sister in law.
