I've changed my electricity retailer to Amber and I'm pleased with the way it works. Amber is an electricity supply company that gives you access to the wholesale market.
On the wholesale Market the feed-in tariff can be as low as -4c/kWh (yes minus 4 cents) or as high as $19/kWh! Prices adjust every 5 minutes.
If you have a battery, Amber allows you to buy energy (if necessary) when it is cheap and sell it back to the grid when prices are high, or spike. Of course if the sun is shining you may not need to buy energy; instead store your excess solar and export it when prices peak. Amber's algorithm will do this for you or you can control it manually.
You still need to pay the daily access charges plus a $22 per month subscription fee. So my subscription has paid for itself.
If you join using my referral code you'll get a $30 sign-up bonus and I'll also get $30.
