Hi all

Just wondering what upgrade is received if booking the Opera House view room? As I understand it, this is the top room before the suite. Must they upgrade you to a suite? Secondly, if there are no suites available at booking, assuming they are all booked out, what will they upgrade you to then?

I made a booking for a 'significant' birthday next year ...

Booked Club Opera House View, and HAVE BEEN upgraded to Club Executive Suite - on an AMB cert. ( pay for first night, get second night in same room / suite FREE ).

May happen within the "Club" bookings side of things but wont happen ( as a rule )down here where the common people hang out

If you don't book club level then they won't upgrade you to club level but a room upgrade. And always "subject to availability".

So, following on from one of the 'other' threads ...

I have a Club Governor Suite booked ( on AMB Weekend Voucher ).

Wanted to have up to around 15 guests in the suite ( the lounge area of the suite ) for the evening.

Will they provide additional seating to the suite ? Free of additional charge ?

What about requesting the use of 'entertainment' items, such as a couple of dozen wine glasses, an extra table and table cloths, ice buckets etc. ??

Anybody had the experience of requesting the 'little extras' when staying in one of the 'top three suites' ??

Hi Rick, Nice room, I'm sure an email in advance to the club lounge manager with your requests will turn out favourable

Made a few calls yesterday ...

Got bounced around a little, but it come back, that hotel will provide whatever I required for a 'reasonable' request.

An additional dining table, to seat 12, with white table clothes - no problem !
24 wine glasses & 12 mixed drink glasses - no problem !
4 ice buckets - no problem !

That was for my suite set up.

Going to try for getting everyone up to the Club Lounge ( and I'll be paying ) for coffee / dessert at say 9 - 10pm.

Does anybody think they won't allow that ? I was under the impression, that after 'comp' drinks / food was over, other hotel guests could come up and pay off the menu ...

I have a feeling that this may be correct, but what happens on the night may be different

Just checked in, and on my Welcome Letter, it refers to something not previously seen ( by me anyway ) ...

An invitation to Club Intercontinental Supper Club, from 9pm 'til late', Wednesday to Saturday ??

What's this ???? ( yeah, I can always ring and ask ... )

I was sent this link the other day by a family member who knows that I love the IC Sydney club lounge.

Club Lounge staffer relayed, that tonight was the first night this program will run.

Simply an invitation to 'non-Club access' guests, that they may attend the Club Lounge after 9pm, and pay from a discounted menu.

Didn't attend myself, as 5 -7 pm was enough for us tonight ...

Hi everyone. Thoughts please ?

Just signed up to IC a ambassador poor gram and we will plan on using the BOGOF certificate on the IC Sydney. Will be the first time staying in an intercontinental. will be looking to get a club room to make full use of the experience!

if we booked the king club city room what would be the ambassador upgrade ?

If if booking king club deluxe eastern harbour what would be the upgrade ?

Thoughts on best views from room ? It's minimal extra charge to book the eastern harbour rooms. I think I've read that some people prefer the eastern harbour view ?

Just returned from the IC SYD and stayed on the ambassador free weekend voucher. I booked a club, city side room and got the guaranteed upgrade to Eastern Harbour room. You will also receive a comp fruit platter, bottle of IC labeled Red wine. Nightly turndown service and 2 bottles of water. Comp breakfast in the lounge and evening drinks and nibbles. All very special if you are new to the "club experience".
To answer your questions, don't book the eastern harbour room you will get it if you book a city side.
