Ambassador 15% discount

I got an email from IHG advising about purchasing Ambassador status, I read on another forum about there being regular 15% discounts on purchasing Ambassador. Is this the case, and what is best way to know about these when they happen?
 
I just paid my renewal yesterday (USD200). A 15% discount would have been nice. Currently (seems to be ongoing) they are offering 15,000 points for renewal, but I could not find any discounts. I decided that paying USD200 and receiving 15K points was better value than spending 40K points for the renewal.

If you or anyone else finds a discount process, then I expect there will be other interested,.

Oh yes, and my Diamond status expiration pushed from December 2023 to December 2024 immediately with the renewal :).

How often do they give points away for joining Intercontinental Ambassador? My IHG Platinum will expire at the end of the year, and I'm keen to keep the status with a stay at an IC if it's an option

The current deal of 15K points upon USD200 paid joining/renewal seems to be ongoing for a wile now. Other option is to purchase Ambassador membership using 40K points, which does not earn the 15K bonus.

Interesting - I can't find the 15k joining offer on the websites or app, but I remember seeing it mentioned in this forum last year

I don't recall there not being an offer, esepcially for renewals. They used to send a voucher code in your welcome letter.
 
I have IGH diamond until end of the year, my plan was to join ambassador in Dec to keep it. They have sent me an invite a few times, hopefully get one again then - I dont usually stay at ICs but sure Ic an find a way to use the voucher.
 
So is the 15K bonus for renewals only? Not seeing anything for new joiners.

My renewal at the end of August did result in rock-hard glittering status renewal :).

From what I read the change happened in September, hoping to har someone signed up for Ambassador for the first time (not a renewal) more recently and kept their Diamond.

Even I am keen to know if anyone had the Diamond status recently after signing up for Ambassador as I have soft landed from IHG platinum to Gold recently.
 
Well Ambassador gifts you Platinum so I don't think you can fall below that. But I'm wanting to keep Diamond.

I'm due to renew my Ambassador membership early next year, and I plan to use a weekend night at Intercontinental Singapore on a vacation I have planned and booked for June 2024. When I was speaking to the consultant at IHG Diamond bookings, they said they can book the 5 nights at IC Singapore as flexible, and then when I renew Ambassador I can change it to a non refundable booking. This sounded a little too good to be true, has anyone else tried this? The weekend night is confirmed this way, and its flexible until I renew next year.

I wonder what the latest date is that I can change an early June booking to non-flexible to save $... Also at that time, can I use points for reward nights? Noting that my Diamond status expires Dec 2024, and I think the Ambassador membership expires around March 2024.

Does anyone have any other advice?
