Just watched first episode where the very first clue was "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial services" - I figure most of us might have known the answer.

Where and how did you watch this? I didn't think it was on until Sunday night.

I spotted some Amazing Racers going through Melbourne a few months back, so I assume they will be heading here during the second half of this leg.

Ah well, there you go.

The ad I saw had them in Sydney, so I guess Melbourne as well.

They were in Sydney in the first episode, so I'm guessing they hit Melbourne before jetting off somewhere else.

Either that, or the racers I saw were from the Australian version that I believe was filmed last year.

I believe the Australian version started in Melbourne.

I'd ROFL if one team pulled waaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead, and then everyone got evened up at SYD due to a massive delay thanks to QF and SYD curfew :p

Seriously, I gave up on TAR a long time ago. It gets a bit superficial after a while, especially when the tactics started to become rather more conniving.

Read on another forum, they fly on to Broken Hill ,then travel back to SYD by train, eventually departing SYD for some point in Japan !

For those not downloading, it is one 7mate (channel 73) on Sunday at 6:30pm.

That's a bit of a surprise. It's always been ratings worthy enough for the main channel (and a better time slot), and I'd have thought moreso now they're paying for local production.

Hmm, just checked and looks like the US version. Maybe they've sidelined that because the AU version will be airing shortly on the main channel.

I wonder how feasible it would be to organise something like this amongst a community of interested people?? maybe not necessarily a race format from sequential point to point before moving on to the next, because then everyone who wanted to participate would need to follow the same route at the same time... but almost a combination of Anatol's scavenger hunt (only really travelling to places) and that thread about the note left in the inflight magazine and whether people would want to start leaving notes and record when they were found etc...

Say for instance one or more people going on rather far flung trips leave notes or tags or something in places around the globe with descriptions or clues on a page and then the scanvenge/race can begin and other people can choose when visiting around that area to try and search for them and report if they have found them when and where etc and see who can find the most in 3 months/6 months etc...
