Alternative to TripIt = TripWaffle

Two similar hotel situations, treated differently, but imported differently.

1. Hotel booking and flights imported from TripIt.

I have a check-in to a hotel at 1am, following a flight arrival at 12:30am. Entry doesn't show separate 'check-in' and 'check-out', but a single entry with just the arrival time "1:00am" (but not saying 'Check-in'.) - even though, if you click on the entry, there is a correct check-out time given later that morning. Can't see why it shouldn't have a check-out event also?

If unclear, I can e-mail you a screenshot via an e-mail.

2. Hotel booking imported via e-mail to robot .TW

I have a hotel booking for 2 nights, the first night of 26th done to allow for an early morning 27th flight arrival and ensure room availability. Love how TW puts 'check-in' event after the flight arrival of 6:35am on 27th but notes 'Actual 26 June'.

Good point: these single day accom events will now display end times too.

I'm a big fan of this also- matches the mental model of a trip being a series of steps.

Thanks for the feedback.

A few fun little updates to announce...

TripWaffle now displays aircraft images with airline specific livery:

Connected to this: we're getting better at early detection/prediction of both terminals and aircraft type in advance. The more flights that go through the system, the better this will get.

We've also improved the general quality of the auto place photos, to hopefully reduce shots of random bathrooms etc. This will only apply to new events added from now onwards:

One suggestion to make the app more unique.

Alongside the airline history could you combine into alliances.
Eg. oneworld, star, skyteam, other.
(Again some difficulties with airlines joining leaving, and switching alliances).

And given you also have I assume some nights history,
Maybe the same for the various hotel loyalty programs.
Possibly also cruise companies.

Very interesting. We'll have to have a dig and see if there's any good online sources of ground-truth for this. Leave it with me.

Thanks to the OP for bringing this to attention, and how great to have the suggestions and instant feedback from the developers. I'm going to give it a go on an upcoming few flights and stays.

Initial, minor feedback. I like the pre-trip email with a few suggestions of things to do or ways to travel. But just from one sample I think accuracy is highly questionable.:
- It suggests the best way for me to get from my hotel to a particular place is to take a tram - I know the area well and there are no trams near the hotel and it is just a 2 minute walk. I appreciate this isn't "core" info for the app, but can be misleading.
- It suggests allowing extra time for the journey from X-Y-Z as there is "little margin" and consider hand luggage only. The layover is over 6 hours on the same airline and ticket (!!) and I will be leaving the airport altogether in between.

I also agree there is probably a bit too much scrolling required to see everything, but at least I don't have to squint!

Promising app, and if I have further thoughts will share.

Useful feedback indeed thank you; we'll see what we can do about improving the precision of the pre-trip brief.

One note on the scrolling, that's perhaps not obvious: when a user is mid trip, any past days will be automatically collapsed and user will be auto-scrolled to current day.
