  • I had 2 BUSINESS tickets booked to fly out on Friday to Darwin , could not go and went on line to change them to October, up popped the options and selected one and paid the extra $ 76.
  • When the booking schedule printed out they were ECONOMY !
  • I range QANTAS FF, very helpful as always, and the consultant said the system showed the cheapest option for the day.
  • I said why did I get charged to go from Business to Economy and why did the site not make it clear. He changed the class back to Business and waived the change fee but any changes I make in the future I have to call them and can't do them on line. Fully paid fares booked when the DSC promo was on.
  • I'm careful on this but I am sure there was nothing to denote that I was changing Business to Economy and there is no way 2 return Melbourne to Darwin via Brisbane costs $ 4,100 which is what the tax invoice showed WITH ECONOMY CLASS SEATS !.

Changes should be ok for the double SC promotion

I'm keen to confirm if this is actually the case, as the T&Cs seemed pretty specific, but I have some flights I booked during the double SC period that I would like to shift! From the Qantas website:

Frequent Flyer - Member Specials - Double Status Credits offer

"If you change or cancel your initial qualifying booking and/or travel is completed outside the promotional period, this bonus offer will not apply."

"If you change or cancel your initial qualifying booking and/or travel is completed outside the promotional period, this bonus offer will not apply."
As long as you keep your booking reference and changes are within promotion period you'll be ok.

This discussion really belongs in the original double SC thread on this topic where there are numerous examples of people changing bookings and automatically receiving double SCs while others have had to send request for manual intervention.

You're definitely OK. As long as the change is in the promo period.
I do it all the time.

Thanks... I have noticed there are many threads that continue to have people posting to them.... but the "AI" that pushes topics into my feed must think it relevant and interesting :-)
