That is odd indeed, they should have been upgraded by then. Unless it is an indication that they will be keeping them as is for the time being, maybe primarily for the HNL route. Bit like how they have kept 3 un-upgraded 747's.

AJ has been quite clear that the whole A330 fleet is being upgraded to the new seats, and that all will be done by the end of the year.

If they use A332 aircraft for HNL with one toilet it will be a pretty bad setup for the last few hours of the flights.

They will operate the 333s. The only refurbs that have appeared on the HNL run so far (albeit irregularly) have been 333s.

They can get away with them on CGK and SIN because they're only 5 - 6 hour flights. The 9 -10 hours between SYD and HNL are a different ballgame.

Hi, I'm thinking of travelling Qantas J Brisbane to Singapore 22nd Dec QF51 and then Singapore to Brisbane QF52 January 4th.

Is there a chance these aircraft will be the refurbished A330-300?

Thanks

If it is an A333, it will be refurbished.

The A332's will likely be completed by then as well.

Just noticed on EF that my HNL flight at end of September which were showing as full flights in J (36 seats) are now showing with 8 seats as blocked making it 28 J seats. Maybe an ominous sign

EBL is currently on its way back from HNL to SYD, so will need to see where it goes from there.

Would think it was a rather excellent sign, actually!!

Depends which 8 (bearing in mind EF will normally show the front 8 seats blocked unless platinum) also there are 9 less seats on -200 when operating international flights.

Yeah john, I'm a little undecided. Have had 2 trips (short haul) and haven't been converted completely yet. IMHO the product is great down as far as my feet, then they have to fit into that little hole at the end.

As thanks to Fred C on the YSSY forum here is the next bit of information for the A330 refurb program.

VH-EBO will be completed next Wednesday and will be replaced by VH-EBD for a maintenance check till the end of August. After EBD, EBL will enter for refurb early September.

As for EBG, (my assumption not confirmed by Fred) that it will enter refurb after VH-EBP is completed from early September.

So hopefully from early September all A330s operating will be refurbed and by early October all A330s are refurbished!

I'm on SYD-CGK-SYD mid-October. Hope all A330s are refurbed.

Jakarta has been 99% refurb for the best part of a year now.

You would have to be unlucky, very very unlucky to get one of the two in refurbished a/c still flying.

Actually you will find that at least one of the 4 A330 flights a day to SIN is a -200, and CGK has been -200's, with maybe 1 or 2 -300's per month for sometime now. In fact CGK since Nov last year was the first route where you could all but gurantee you would get a newly fitted A330.

I noticed that on the schedule that some second dailies were getting a 200 with skybeds recently but they still have 2 toilets. If they are using refurbished ones with a single cubicle well that's pretty ****house...lol!

I've got a SYD->PER on 23 Oct. Its the last leg of LAX->JAPAN->SYD in F. Will I get to finish the trip in style???? ie. flat
