VH-QPB to Singapore (presumably for painting) suggesting it will be next in for -300 treatment after QPC

Nice surprise to see the new seat map for my QF52 in June ... wonder if it will stick?

Flew the new config today. Regretted not upgrading as the new bus class looked even better in the flesh than in the photographs I've seen. Vaguely disappointed by economy though. Apart from the fact that the seats were dirty (not a config problem of course) I found my seat quite uncomfortable to sit in for a 4 hour flat and had to stand and walk around to relieve the ache. The problems with the toilets continue as well with one of the middle of plane economy toilets out of service.

One design flaw seems to be that the curtains in front of row 23 prevent the opening of one of the large overhead bins and the smaller central one impacting storage space. Something to watch out for if you are flying at the front of economy.

Was this a a330-300 or -200?

Just updating my tracker.
Would expect EBA to be out in the next fortnight.

I would expect EBE or EBF to go in after EBA comes out. Jetstar just received another 787 so one of those two will be returning to QF shortly.

Just out of curiosity, why is painting done in SIN? are there painting facilities here in Australia?

The AusBT article suggests they are aiming to have 6 refurbed birds by the time VA launch their first in March 2015.

The above post was made in October.
Does anybody think that QF will reach the target of 6 by March ?

I would see 3 200's and 2 300s by end of March unless they drastically hurry up (possible as they should get quicker) or do three planes at once.

Comrades, I currently have a confirmed Business upgrade on Feb 13 on QF475 - I booked it a while ago in the hope of it ending up being operated by one of the new aircraft.

My question is, it looks like QF485 has the new seat map, so do you think it's worth copping the $100 fare difference plus change fee and changing to QF485? Have there been any last minute aircraft swaps lately?

I'd be super disappointed if QF475 was the 'workspace' J class too! I really wanna try these new suites ;)

FR24 showing VH-EBA outside the hanger, listed as Test (1 month 7 days since it went in on 1/1)

JMFK with only one aircraft on the domestic runs any minor tech issue will mean things get swapped ( eg. QPAs rotation on QF5/6 and then short trip to MNL)

Also you would want to hope that your business upgrade came through on the new flight too!

Hi All

about to book an award flight Mel to Per for March 13 in the afternoon, between QF777, QF773 or QF653 which is most likely to have the new J product?

thanks for your advice :)

While all 3 flights have different configs, at the moment, none of them are the new one...
