Hello! I have been placing a careful eye on award seat availability for June - August 2024 bookings for ANA SYD > HND. I’m just waiting on the next “bonus points offer” to lock in those seats. For the past few weeks, there have always been 15 - 20 J award seats for ANA direct SYD>HND for the months of June to August. However after checking those dates today, they have all disappeared. Only Singapore airline routes are available. This was also cross-referenced with seats.aero. Anyone have any idea where did all these seats went?? I don’t think it’s because they were made available only 355 days ahead of time. All these seats were available up until last night.

Air Canada is going through some major issues right now with its partner award availability: Etihad, Oman, etc etc.

ANA is just the latest one to disappear for no apparent reason.

You might try calling Air Canada & seeing if an agent can book for you (use United.com to check availability first).

There is a very active FT thread about the problems Aeroplan is allegedly facing with fraudulent activity by milage brokers and the defensive tactics they are having to deploy to return to normal activity by honest travel enthusiasts. We all wish them success in returning to normal once they remove the dishonest element from destroying normal use of FF programs.

Thank you mate for your insight. I must say that timing would be on our side this round. It would be a scary thought if the bonus deal was back and something like this ensue. I would not want to hold points any longer than a few days.

Looks like NH availability has returned. Unfortunately all the flights I had planned have been taken. The remaining aren’t so enticing…

Not sure the full complement of flights have returned. Way more availability on United, for example.

I am in conflict at the moment. Given the uncertainty surrounding availability, I would like to lock in some seats as soon as I can. Here are my two options...

Option 1: Lock in the desired routes with LifeMiles and take advantage of their 140% bonus. Keep in mind that the deal ends on 30/08 in Columbia which is 2 days from now.
Option 2: Wait for an upcoming Aeroplan bonus in September, then lock in the desired award seats via Aeroplan.

I would prefer option 2 as it gives me much more peace of mind compared to the notorious LifeMiles customer service stories. On the flip side, my desired seats might be taken or worse, Aeroplan removes partner bookings again. I am aiming for flights in July 2024 but I allow myself +/- one month for flexibility. Provided that Aeroplan announces a min 75% bonus, the total price between option 1/2 differs by less than $200 so I would be indifferent. Is it worth taking the risk for option 1 or should I wait for things to settle into September?

Thanks
