All Accor nights - something isn't adding up?

I'm currently still showing as being a Silver member - despite having joined Accor+ which credits 20 nights, and having also stayed the following nights -

  • Pullman Shanghai Xuhai - 3 nights
  • Pullman Yantai Center - 3 nights
  • Pullman Shenzhen North - 4 nights
  • Mercure Hefei Huaihe Road - 2 nights (BTW wouldn't recommend this property)
  • Mercure Yantai Golden Beach - 3 nights (very new property - so new that the reception staff haven't learnt a single word of English yet :) )
So according to my rough math that equals 20 nights for the Accor+ membership + 15 nights of actual stays - so 35 nights of the needed 30 nights to make Gold. Am I missing something that is hidden in the fine print or ? Even if you don't count any particular one of those stays I still have 30+ nights in total.

When did you join Accor Plus, and how many nights does your ALL account say you've stayed?
Joined Accor Plus 30 days ago, and the account is showing 27 days - I will try to reverse engineer things to try to figure out why.

So the first two stays totalled 7 nights - so that + the 20 nights for Accor+ would give the 27 nights shown, and the most recent three stays haven't credited towards the nights tally yet - hopefully things will catch up soon.

Sounds like some of your China stays haven't credited, were they all booked direct, and did you pay cash for those stays?

Have a look at your ALL transaction statement to see which hotels have/haven't credited nights.

Many thanks for pointing me towards that statement - it presents a clear picture of what has happened. Pullman Yantai Center for 4 nights was booked through Qantas Hotels so probably no nights credit for that one (rookie mistake!), Pullman Shanghai Xuhai and Pullman Shenzhen North have both credited their 3 + 4 nights, Mercure Hefai hasn't credited despite paying cash and checking out nearly a week ago, and Mercure Yantai Golden Beach was partly paid for in Accor points so I'm guessing that one won't credit nights? So once Mercure Hefai credits that will put me up to 29 nights.

Partly paying with points should not affect the nights crediting to your account.

Not always, it depends how much the "part" is. Nights are earned as long as there's a portion of the stay value excluding tax paid with cash.

For example on a $110 (inc $10 GST) stay..

$50 paid with points / $60 paid with cash = night awarded
$100 paid with points / $10 paid with cash = night not awarded as $10 cash goes toward GST component only

The other way to ensure a stay credits is to charge anything to the room and pay with cash at checkout .. minibar, restaurant, etc.

That’s timely. I was going to rebook an Ibis stay using points (a good option to use points since it’s a relatively low earner) but knew in the back of my head there was a potential catch. You saved my trolling through pages and pages trying to find the relevant thread/discussion!

For @RSD, if a stay was showing in the Accor app / online as an upcoming stay, then generally they should post less than 1wk after checkout. As noted, QF hotels (and other OTAs) don’t count.

OK many thanks everyone! I might leave it until the middle of next week and see what has posted, and then follow up with All Accor on what hasn't.

There’s a “Claim points” from missing stays / activity button in the app on the Transaction history page (and online).

The earliest you can claim from is exactly 1wk ago from current date.

You can also double check if the missing hotels are ALL participating. When you view the hotel online / in app, there’s a symbol confirming you earn pts/nights. No symbol means no earn nor benefits.

Before claiming points, I usually contact the hotel to ask for a PDF tax invoice if I don't already have one. ALL support will often ask you for this when you lodge the claim.

Could you please copy that symbol here - I'm not seeing it anywhere?

That’s false both in my experience and as per the T&Cs of the program:

Eligible Stays and expenses deemed eligible expenditures, as per these Terms and Conditions, defined herein, entirely paid for in full with Reward Points do, however, earn Status Nights, provided that the conditions for so doing, as defined in the Programme TCM, are met.
