ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

Another newbie question from me. Looks like I will qualify for Accor Platinum for the first time in August. I am planning a trip in November. Will I have Platinum Status for breakfasts and Suite Night Upgrades by then, or not until 1st January next year?

Once the 60 nights/14K points hits, you'll be platinum and get your first 2 SNUs (plus lounge access, and breakfast in the Asia-Pacific). It will then last until the end of calendar year 2027. :)

Thanks, that's what I was hoping!!!

Having recently dropped from elite HH status, I've decided to try climbing the Accor status ladder for a change of scenery.
I noticed a current Qantas/Accor promo offering 5k QFF points bonus for purchasing an ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership for business', where you either have an existing, or sign up for a QBR account. The link to the promo is here - https://www.qantas.com/business-rewards/en-au/earn-points-on-business-expenses/accor-plus . And TBH, a couple of years ago they were offering a 10k points bonus so I signed then too. But have since let my Explorer membership lapse.
After paying and signing up again this week, I have been advised by Accor that I am not eligible for the 5k points this time, as I am not a 'new' member.
There's nothing during the Accor+ Explorer sign-up/payment process that states you are not eligible for the bonus QFF points if you have been a past member, but Accor are telling me it's in the T&Cs, but I am yet to find anything.
And look honestly, my time/effort spent already exceeds the value of 5k points, so I'm prepared to cut my losses. It's more the principle of this typical click bait marketing these companies do to lure people in that gets my nanny goat raging.....

Just curious if anyone else has been caught in the same boat?

This appears to be the only mention of qualifying terms:
2. Membership
2.1. Membership in the ALL Accor+ Explorer programme is available to any
individual of adult age group who:
(a) pays the full Membership Fee, in the applicable local currency;
(b) provides valid and accurate personal information when enrolling in
the ALL Accor+ Explorer programme;
(c) is not already a member of the ALL Accor+ Explorer programme; and
(d) has not previously been terminated from any previous programme
operated by the Accor Group or ALL Accor+ Explorer programme
(unless Accor Plus has expressly agreed to allow the previously
terminated member to re-join the ALL Accor+ Explorer programme).

I signed up in May: disappointed I missed out. Oh well.

Hey everyone. I have a stay this weekend, Accor in Australia. I'm wondering if I have to show my Accor Explorer card everytime I bill breakfast + meals at the hotel to my room. I did it at the Sofitel Darling Harbour, which was fine I guess, no one complained but it did take time.

My experience in general is yes. Really they just want the number which is in the app. The only place I've not had to do this is Raffles Bali.

I would. Reception for billing only get the invoice from restaurant or bar that needs to have the discount already applied.

Good to know! I might see about buying breakfast the night before, then :) At 6:30am, I am hungry lol

Eat first, pay at the end of the meal. You need to show it before you sign for the bill which is when they adjust it.

It's incredibly annoying needing to show it all the time. Especially so at the Sofitel Nusa Dua swim up bar. It's not like I carry a phone into the pool with my for discounted drinks.

Haven’t seen it at too many places elsewhere but at a few stays in Vietnam recently the staff actually took a screen shot or recorded my number and they automatically applied it when we ate at the restaurant or had drinks at the pool or bar

Should be able to tell them your room number and they look it up based on that before billing to room.

Hi folks, presently Gold status from last year, will be able to hit 30 nights stay by October so I'm set for Gold again for next year.

I don't yet have Accor+ and was wondering on the timing of purchase.

I'm rather confused as to why some people say to buy Accor+/Explorer in December to maximise the benefits.

I appreciate if I bought it now, I would be Platinum after my stay in October, and will remain Platinum until the end of 2027. If I don't renew in July next year, I should hypothetically get a soft landing (?) to gold for 2028. If I *do* renew but don't meet 30 status nights in 2027, I don't see how that changes what I get in 2028, unless the folks were saying that it goes on whichever of the prior two years is higher is true?

I also don't understand why it makes a difference buying in December versus now or January.

Would greatly appreciate someone teaching me a lesson about this. :P

A lot of what you have mentioned is now obsolete because of recent changes to the program.

January is the now the best time to join. You will get 30 nights in January and you will become platinum as soon as you stay the additional 30 nights which in theory could be as early as January. You will remain platinum for that year and the next year.

In your case, you may as well join between now and and October so you become platinum in October. You will remain platinum next year.

Platinums will get a soft landing to gold the following year but gold is worthless in my opinion. Anyone who joins Explorer is automatically upgraded to gold.

Renewing Explorer no longer affects your status other than you will get 30 nights at the time of your renewal.

Thanks, no wonder I was so confused!

If your 30 nights you have this year are or will be actual stay nights as opposed to bonus nights from any source, then I’d suggest you’d be better off joining this year, so you have Platinum from that point to the end of ‘26 and for all of ‘27 (that’s just how the ALL status works when you attain).

You could then retain Platinum in ‘27 by again staying the required 30 actual nights, and then renewing plus in the month of joining to add the 30 bonus nights.

If you don’t retain platinum in ‘27 you would be downgraded to Gold for ‘28, regardless of nights stayed or if you decided to renew Accor Plus Explorer or not. You’d drop to silver in ‘29.

Cheers,
Matt.
