With a drive to reduce Alcohol and have an alternative when you cant drink, such as when driving, and given that some of us have had an excess of Alcohol during the lock down and many like myself have opted to reduce that by substituting with Alcohol free drinks I thought I would ask what do you drink when Alcohol is off the menu.

What Beer Wines and Spirits have you tried and would recommend

What have you tried and wouldn't recommend.

For me as far as Beer goes I would recommend Heineken 00 I found it to have the taste of beer that was refreshing and not sweet, all I would say is make sure its very cold as this is when its at its best.

I wouldn't recommend Carlton Zero I found it was too sweet with a bitter after taste.

The Seedlip gins are pretty good, I’ve had a couple of those.
I don’t recommend apple cider, it’s just expensive carbonated apple juice. Better off buying Appletizer from the supermarket.

I agree, probably the best tasting non-alcoholic beer on the market. It's quite good value too, usually $10/6 pack.

Have just ordered a bottle form Dans on special at 44.90 so will see how it goes.

I wouldn't recommend Fleure
I bought this from Dans. It has a lovely floral fragrance, but I found it had a very watery flavour. Definitely a waste of money.

My fridge is full of soda water, vinegar shrubs, and bitters.

And then there's The Curious Cabinet:

Can you still buy Claytons?
No, it hasn't been available for a few years now.

May I suggest that you probably are asking the wrong audience?

Just cut out the beer.

A couple of red wines won't harm you, and I've lost 5 kilos in the last couple of months doing this. I wasn't a big person to begin with, but feel/look much better.

Just stay off the beer (light or otherwise). If in doubt, drink water.

Depends why someone is avoiding alcohol, I’m pregnant so it’s off the table at the moment.

The best beer I have found is Budvar Budejovicky, available from Dan Murphy's up here in FNQ. It tastes like a real beer, has no preservatives, is vegan, and made in the Czech Republic. I tried a load of alcohol free beers over Xmas, and this was my favourite by far. Heineken 00 would be my 2nd choice.
