Yes, you can do one J award from Oz to the USA - on Cathay, Delta, Air Fiji and Korean Air
Delta is outrageously expensive but the other 3 are reasonable

Alaska almost certainly will not book that for you, even if you can find it.

no way through EUR in 1 redemption, not even with 2 i don't think.
through HKG is probably your best bet with CX.
otherwise try your luck when window opens with QF

Can be done but has to be two awards. OZ to Hong Kong. Hong Kong to Europe. You will not find cathay availability on line. You will need to check on cathay's site and then ring up to book. Or just ring up and get Alaskan to check availability for you.

took it as OP was asking from AUS - US through EUR which would require AUS-HKG-EUR-US. that's IF OP was definitely needing to go somewhere in Europe.
otherwise use a combination of QF, JAL websites to find CX availability

i only got 35%, missus got 50% - neither of us have bought/ credited to Alaska before. Pretty tempting when 100k miles will get you EK F from Asia-USA via DXB or vv.

Using AS miles + 40% be about half that but getting QF/AA J flights from to OZ virtually impossible unless you go viaNAN or HKG, or book near a year out.
