Strangely enough, however, Mr Joyce didn't seem to mind setting up a codesharing agreement with Etihad back in 2009, just before DJ teamed up with Emirates.

Codeshares are of course well down the relationship scale from the current EK/QF and EY/VA tie-ups.

i would have thought a more apt description might have been a "puppy vs a pitbull"

(as in EK will eat them alive eventually!)
