Hi guys,

I have a flight from Perth to Doha in QR First and then onwards from Doha to London in QR Business. I heard that if you arrived on a long haul First class flight you will be granted entry to the Al Safwa First Class Lounge despite not having an onward First Class flight. I looked at the website and there are no details. Is this still true?

Cheers

According to the wiki on Flyertalk :
Can I use the Qatar Airways Al Safwa Lounge?

Access is based on your underlying fare bucket. This means that no upgraded tickets, are granted access.

Access is thus restricted to Qatar Airways First Class, and OneWorld First Class passengers :
- either holding a First Class boarding pass* for their next flight
- or holding a First Class boarding pass* from their previous flight, provided the flight time was over 5 hours. That specifically means flights on an A380.
- Guests are not permitted.
* Operational Upgrades / QCredit upgrades to First do not give access.

Nice info. Would this also apply to Al Mourjan lounge access as well after a J 13 hour flight from Australia and then on a Y fare, same PNR.

Al Mourjan Wiki states:
“The absolute minimum requirement for access is a boarding card for a flight departing in J or a boarding card for an incoming longhaul J flight.“

My wife and I did PER-DOH in F and onwards to BRU in J last April (on QF points) and as mentioned above no issues at all getting in to Al Safwa.
Shame we only had a couple of hours transit. Whilst being huge and quite sparse in places, in terms of food and drink offerings, service and amenities it would be the best airport lounge I have ever been to :)
