AIRTRAIN Brisbane Go Card šŸ˜”

I'm a seniors card holder (not pensioner) and reciprocally, they issued me with a maroon card.

Did you have to swear allegiance to the Maroons? That could explain it ;)

Do you have a seniors card on the reverse?

Interstate pensioners are supposed to use green go cards, as the maroon cards are only for QLD residents (and double as a QLD seniors card).
I'm afraid that's incorrect, but if you want to argue the toss, please consult the Qld Govt, who issued the card,

Oh, and BTW, are you an authorised officer of the QLD Govt?

Thank you.

Interstate pensioners (which was my claim) are indeed green.

Interstate seniors can get a maroon card without the QLD seniors card on the reverse. I was not aware you could get this, but it seems you can.

Why they maintain this option and not just give everyone the green cards, I don't know. There's absolutely no difference between them.

Trying to purchase the return for free for this weekend and got a couple of questions;

1. The return for free means that the pax will be charged for one-way only. The return journey is free
2. There seem to be track works on the Gold Coast and Beenleigh line this weekend. I want to travel from BNE domestic to the city on 24/02 and BNE city to BNE domestic on 25/02. When I tried to purchase a return ticket for this trip, I get charged approx $20ish, which is fine, but I also get a pop up that there is track work on this line and there will be replacement buses.
3. There is a map of the stops on the Beenleigh & OOL lines that are affected and I looked up the stops my train from BNE DOM-BNE city (vv) on Google Maps and the stops that my train takes are not in the affected stop list. So I'm a little confused if I should pre-purchase this ticket ...

Has anyone seen this?

No impact on the Airport line between airport and the city

Apologies - I was getting my states mixed up.

Maroon Seniors Go Card.
I thought you were only a few years older than me. The way I read it, I was not eligible for Seniors card as I'm still working full-time. Have you cut down your hours?

Thank you so much @AIRwin
Can confirm that the airport line worked fine. My return trip was discounted, saving approx $21ish.

Vic Seniors base criteria is 60+ Years old and not working more than 35 hours per week.

With that, I now have seniors transport cards for ACT, SA, NSW, QLD, and ... Vic.
So you don't work full-time? I have to wait a few more years as I've turned 60 but offficially still working 37.5 hours a week. Unofficially more like 45 hours a week.

Booked a trip to Brisvegas in a few weeks time. Reading thru this, it sounds like I can just use a contactless payment now to travel BNE to City and back to BNE (and any trips as required in town TBD). Will contactless give the ā€œFreeā€ return leg to BNE or is than only bookable online?

Online was quoting me something like 43.80 for 2x PAX return.

Ah, but it looks like travel after 30 Apr is still discounted! (So long as booked prior).

I assume thereā€™s then no additional discount with a seniors card?

This offer is only applicable on Adult fares. Children and concession fares are excluded.

I didn't compare what concession fares are:

GO Card is being phased out now according to paper due to being too old.
New TRANSLINK card will do similar things but also CC tap is on ferries now, most trains but not buses, so will still be using GO Card for a while.

Was there last week and all my usual inner city bus stops have relocated as part of Cross Rail works, had to learn them all again.

I believe that you can stack the return for free fare with a child for free fare. This means that if an adult and an accompanying child are travelling together they just collectively pay $21.9 for the two return tickets, if you book before end of this month. However, I think the child for free fare only applies to certain near CBD stations.

In Chicago, you can register a paywave card as being eligible for concession. Need to front up to a manned counter to show credentials.
OT, but we managed to register for a Chicago Ventra card (Apple & Google Pay). You can load a Weekly pass that includes to/from ORD. Catch is you need a US address - a twist on the El Segundo method has me resident at the Palmer House Hiltonā€¦šŸ˜‰.
