I'm flying into AKL for a conference on a Friday in November. Flight lands at 2.55pm and we are supposed to be assembling at the Britomart at 4pm.

What's the best way to get there? Also, how long does it take to exit Auckland airport? I am anticipating I will only have carry on luggage.

IME not too long to exit the airport (walk from the gate, through immi, through quarantine & customs) - maybe 10 - 15 mins on a good day, but crowds can vary.

As for making Britomart by 1600 after a scheduled 1455 landing, a cab sounds like the go. There is an airport bus (NZD22 for a return ticket, more than half that for a one-way) which would go right past, and stop near, Britomart, but in moderate traffic would probably take ~30 - 40 mins for the trip.

So you don't have much leeway as far as time goes, and Friday at that time it would likely be worse for traffic.

Second the Airbus - great, cheap and reliable and runs every 15 minutes directly to the ferry terminal / Britomart, probably only marginally slower than a cab at about 45 minutes.

Airbus - provided your on the 3:15 or earler bus. The 3:15 bus will drop you outside Britomart at 4:05. Otherwise you'll need to taxi it.

With only carry-on I've managed to get through AKL in 10 minutes.

It will take at least 20 minutes to go thru passport control & customs as they scan all bags and it will add at least 5 minutes.

Airbus if you can be late for the 4pm. Otherwise a corporate car which cost marginally more than taxi but it will be waiting for you.

If you only have carry on, and there are no other flights which landed a few minutes before you then it's possible to get through in 10 minutes, including customs and x-ray by MAF

Can you change flight times? Unless you're okay being late, it's quite possible whatever form you take will get you there late at that peak time.
