I have done a few inbound flights to Sydney from Shanghai on China Eastern, no secondary screenings.

Flew back from Nadi earlier this week and they did a liquids check between scanning the boarding pass and boarding the aircraft outside on the way to the aerobridge. Absolutely insane IMO, as there are no places beyond here to fill a water bottle.
