The best news in that isn't about the airport hotels. It's that the new 300 room one in the city will be a starwood.

I wonder if its going to be an Aloft branded property? Good to see Starwood coming back with new properties, makes my decision to pursue platinum more of a sane one!

On topic... Will be interesting to see what the "modular" accomodation is like, could be another option for when I am in PER.

I think the interesting story is that the airport at the hotel will be pre-fabricated overseas and then assembled on site in Perth. Nothing new for the mining industry but this could be a game changer for the hotel/accom industry if the result is visually acceptable and is profitable....

I think modular homes will be the next big step, interesting times for the building industry.

Could be, although I believe the proposal was for a Le Meridien (although I guess that can change as it goes through the process...)

you beat me to it - 18 containers high with elevated work platform as access to your room. Made i China - the quality is bound to be fantastic - my recent iPAD dongas (ex China) with more lights on the aircon than Sydney airport is testament to that - pictures on my facebook feed...
