airlines advertising Easter specials 8 days out

It's a little early for me to be thinking about what to do at Easter this year :D

Just because it is an Easter sale, doesn't mean the sale flights are for travel during Easter. It's just a marketing exercise.

is it actually that cheap? Ex BNE the fare is over $300 each way for a shortish 1680 mile flight. BNE-PER is longer, but cheaper.
looked a few years back to go somewhere over easter a month or so beforehand & looked at Fiji & it was over $1200 return BNE/NAN/BNE each, so we gave it a miss (in other words flights were full)

OK QF have just restarted SYD/NAN/SYD 4 days a week I think it is, but in 737s, but the whole things reeks of poor yield management & people just not spending.

think it's both for travel during & after + before Easter. Some dates are $2k return SYD/NAN/SYD as those flights are obviously full, but some days over Easter school holidays still available for under $700 return.

The thing is, someone might look at it & go, ok let's go to Fiji for easter/school holidays next year, thinking they will get a $600 fare & they probably won't unless they book in a months time & then probably on late flight to Fiji & early flight back. Sends wrong message.
