Attempting to book Aria suites from MEL to HKG in June 2026, I choose CX104, which is reported to be a 777-300ER by all reviewers. However, when I click on Aircraft details in the Cathay website, it states the plane is an A350-900. Does anyone know if this is a mistake or should I go ahead and book based on the flight number?
Thanks for any insight you can provide. Regards, Allan

I'm seeing this on the Cathay website with their timetable feature. Strange when I go make don't bookings it shows 77J for CX163 but timetable shows 77K.

Either way I was just confused I didn't know they were doing non aria suite 777s, thought it was either A350 or aria suite

For Melbourne, CX104 and CX105 will also be operated by Aria suite equipped aircraft between 11 Nov 2026 and 15 Jan 2027, in addition to the existing CX163/CX178 rotation

I think for Sydney/SYD, Cathay Pacific is operating CX138/139 and CX181/100 with Aria Suite.
However, please note that Cathay Pacific charges a much higher Sydney Premium for airfares which I recommend passengers do not fly out from Sydney to overseas to avoid wasting money to airlines.
Occassionally CX161/162 also uses Aria Suite, however it is not guaranteed.
