I have noticed that after booking their has been an aircraft change on my flight QF24 from BKK - SYD on Aug 3, 2016. It was changed to what looks like domestic configured A330-200 with recliner seats in business! This is not acceptable as I have paid good money for a business class flight and now I have basically cough seats for. 9 hr flight! Can I do anything about this or do I just hope that hopefully they switch back to better aircraft!

Hi mckinj02,

Having paid good money you'll have either a flexible or refundable ticket - you could always:

1. Cancel and rebook with another airline - who are just as capable of pulling another aircraft switch
2. Switch flights to another day which is showing the config you're seeking
3. Accept that - with mixed fleets - airlines can and will move aircraft around; that Business Class is not just the seat (though an important part - given the overnight nature of BKK-SYD) that the baggage allowance, lounge access, PB, cabin service (to name just some) will all remain the same

Regards,

BD

Looking at the Y seat map for the same flight, it looks like the OP is on a Skybed I fitted 332 (exit row is row 45, not row 44 as per the dom 332 fitout).

Are you sure that it is the domestic business recliner product and not Skybed Mk1? Both have 36 seats so you need to look at the differences in the seat map to confirm which configuration it is. For the record, can you paste a copy of the seatmap on here?

FWIW, the only time I have seen the recliners on intl runs were out of PER (going up to SIN and AKL), and a once off getting EBJ to MNL to convert her over to JQ many moons ago. Not saying it doesn't happen, but it wouldn't be the norm.

It will be an international configured 332, not domestic. The product is older, for sure, but it's not recliner.

and it's possible, maybe probable, that the config will change again prior to August :)

How do you know it's recliner? Worst case I would have thought it would be Skybed MK1. I didn't think they sent the recliner's international?

I viewed the seat map on seat guru but have noticed know that configuration has changed and now looks like MK1 Skybed! Thanks for all your replies...hope they change to reconfigured version before I fly... Here's hoping!

Seat guru isn't always accurate, I'd use the seat maps from the operating carrier as the reference point.

Equipment, like seating, is never guaranteed.
Having a similar issue with a SYD-PER flight .. Originally booked J on the A332 and was looking forward to the new suites, now changed to B737 :(
