Doing some research for a trip to Tahiti later in the year and guess what?

Qantas is more expensive! Given that QF code shares with TN and TN operates the flight, QF J class $5600, TN J class $3100.

TN F class is only $1000 more than QF J.

(these are ex SYD)

That is a big difference for SC and points!!!!

Someone from QF please explain???

Qantas can choose to charge whatever they like for their codeshares on other planes.

They've just chosen to charge a higher amount than TN in this case. In other cases it is less.

I think TN may be having a sale. Looking at the published rates for mid August, they are just about identical between the two carriers.

No sense in booking the QF codeshare I agree - unless you get a good corporate discount, or treasure the SC's etc.

For the random date "later in the year" that I checked (9th Sept), the TN and QF fares are either exactly the same of so close it does not matter.

For example:

QF and TN in D = A$2900 return SYD-PPT-SYD
QF in C and TN in J = A$2633 one-way
TN in J = $5266 return (no QF fare showing for J return, only D)
QF in A and TN in P = A$3224 one-way
