Air New Zealand Delays/Cancellations

Continuing with 8 April, NZ125 (1530 hours mid afternoon AKL to MEL, A321 ZK-NNG) took off at 1631 with arrival at gate becoming 1846, 61 minutes behind schedule. It had to hold north of Heyfield, Victoria as MEL looks to be on single runway ops.

NZ111, the 1625 hours AKL to SYD has ZK-NNE that was featured in the previous post above. It is arriving at 1858, 46 behind, so has picked up 20 minutes or so as the day has worn on.

On Sunday 5 July 2026, NZ187, the morning 0905 hours AKL across to OOL did not take off until 1426 in the afternoon. Gate arrival for A321 ZK-NNH should be about 1537 hours, 292 minutes behind schedule. An aircraft must have failed as this morning, -NNH operated NZ110, the 0750 hours SYD-AKL that arrived at gate 20 minutes early at 1240 hours.

On Sunday 12 July 2026, SYD was only using its east-west runway as the afternoon began.

NZ102 (0955 hours SYD-AKL, A321 ZK-NNA) had to queue for takeoff, with this occurring at 1230. Gate arrival is forecast as 1731 hours, 146 minutes behind schedule. This was partly because its NZ101, the 0700 hours AKL-SYD did not become airborne until 0940, arriving Sydney at 1018 hours, 93 minutes late. The aircraft has then lost further time on the ground in Sydney.
