Air India B787 crash Ahmedabad

What’s the point of posting this here? Misinformation at the best. Serves no purpose to elevate such speculation?

The fact it had not been posted here before and was presented as new info is why it was shared, with obvious disclaimers from the moment it was posted as well as naming the source, it’s called peer review! Once shared other members pointed out its history. Better to be aware of the falsehoods than be ignorant.

Obviously YMMV. Don’t see the point of posting speculation without checking facts first.

It read very well on first sight and my initial reaction was one of relief at "knowing" what happened.
I then re read it , the holes appeared and I thought some darker thoughts about the way stuff like this is manipulated.

TrTma.. there are no facts to check ..yet.. just endless speculation, much of it tasteless and self serving.
Perhaps @markis10 could have headlined the obvious and saved us all some disappointment.. C'est La vie...

I’m just waiting for the other shoe to drop here when it comes to Boeing. Wouldn’t surprise me if the 787 had a hidden mode no pilots were aware of built into the plane like MCAS on the MD-737 (737 MAX) like RTO (reverse take off)

“MD-737”??
I refer to the 737 MAX as the MD-737 as it was designed by the bean counters at McDonald’s Douglas and not the engineers of Boeing
“Reverse take off”??
It’s a pejorative word I use for hidden flight modes like MCAS that cause an airplane to perform a reverse take off

Any updates on the Air India crash? It seems to have all gone quiet...

What you’re sensing is the loss of the initial media interest where every YouTube “expert” and their dog had to have their 2 cents. Now the media cycle has moved on to other things. Investigators don’t provide media bites before the reports are released. It may take several weeks of analysis and transcription before any CVR/FDR data is released.

No doubt once they do all usual suspects will fire up with “expert analysis” videos that align with the agenda they’re trying to push. They will be no more accurate than their initial speculation based off a phone video from a distance.

Interest certainly falls off. Who remembers the Sea World helicopter crash. Huge media exposure when it occurred. Then it dropped off. Then the report came out and it only got a few news reports here and there.

Same deal with the Mt Isa crash the other year with all those dead, was considerable media exposure. Report was out last week and barely made the news.

Life just moves on I guess.

Generally same as the Jeju air. As much speculation and internet guessing as possible initially given the crazy nature of it all and the footages.

We did get updates from time to time and the full picture is still yet to be determined, but most of the circumstances have now come out and we see just how damned the pilots were once they flew through the birds trying to do the go around.

No, I wouldn’t say most of the circumstances of Jeju Air have now come out. The recorder data was incomplete and the preliminary report doesn’t contain analysis. Still much to come.

At least with Air India the CVR and FDR should have all of the data until the point of impact...
