At last Air Canada is commencing Direct MEL to YVR year round from 03 June 2018.
Have used their seasonal direct YVR MEL flights and love the product (as it is direct). Have tested each class J Y+ and Y and from this experience would avoid Y on the 787 for long haul (ex MEL) as the 9 abreast and paper thin seats are bad news on long haul. AC Flight staff I have spoken to all agree that the 787 (ex Brisbane and Melbourne) is their preferred aircraft. None of the staff were too supportive of the 777 ex Sydney.
Overheard a Management briefing to AC cabin crew emphasising the importance of securing the lead position (in their customers opinion) on flights into Canada ahead of Qantas who run a seasonal service ex Sydney.
My question to those who may be in the know:
Will we see Air Canada release any opening specials for their year round MEL YVR service?
