Has anyone flown D7 from KUL to AUH yet? I'd be interested to hear your experiences, such as:
- was the flight on time?
- what terminal does Air Asia X use at AUH?
- were there any glitches on arrival in AUH?
- how long did arrival Customs/Immigration take?

I am flying this route shortly and I have a 2-hour connection to make at AUH, so I was wondering if this was doable. As it will be a different airline I am connecting to (flying out of T1), I expect I will also have to check-in again.

Air Asia X uses Terminal 1 which is actually the better of the 2 terminals for foreign carriers.
Terminal 3 is for Etihad
Terminal 1 is for the rubbish airlines (but the terminal is clean and you can even get a beer.)

No glitches at immigration. Better than Dubai Terminal 1/2 but not as good as Dubai T3.
Customs will only take a long time if you arrive at the same time as 5 747's from India/Pakistan.
2 hours is tight for any airport if exiting immigration and collecting, re-checking luggage. If your flight does not arrive late, then you should be fine.

/October 2009/

Inbound immigration was faster than the baggage, but the baggage really wasnt bad (by MEL/BNE standards). We were in the front half of Y class on BA777 ex-LHR.

Arrival was ~1930hrs. There were about 3 777-sized jets and 2 744s on the tarmac at the time (non-etihad).

Hope that helps.

We departed ex-DXB (T2 which was terrible - a whole other story) so cant advise re: AUH outbound immigration but there didnt seem to be an issue and our friends living there tell me it's not a drama.
