Air Asia seating plans

Ive just booked some flights via Air Asia X from MEL to KUL. Im going to select some seats with extra legroom, why is the seat near the top of the plane (K8) only $7 while the seat next to it H8 $35? I assume they would have the same legroom?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have trouble in normal economy class.

I can't assist with this; it seems J8 in this example is blocked from preallocation, perhaps with the intention of giving those who pay more in H8 extra space (would be amongst the last allocated). Dunno about K8, perhaps leg room is restricted somehow.

I was thinking that there may be a crew seat in front of K8 and A8 hence the cheaper price. I assume there would be a galley in between the XL (business class equiv) and the economy, so the crew seat could be there...

There could be a bulkhead in front of K8/A8 hindering legroom. If you want the extra room pay the $35 and once on the plane you 'll see the setup and be able to report back to us

The trip is in July 09! A bit too long to wait for a report
