About time? Not that I've ever flown Air Asia.

Good move all round....KLIA will make it more convenient for airline transfers as well as stopovers..

Have flown with AA many times and rate them the best of the LCCs in our region. As with all LCCs, you just need to understand what is and isn't included in the price and be prepared...e.g. upgrading to an exit row seat and upsizing your luggage when you book is a wise move and not a huge cost plus take your tablet or laptop for entertainment..

Have found flights to be punctual, on and off the ground staff to be pleasant and the ride reasonably comfortable.

Its KLIA2, which is still a separate airport terminal. I am not sure if there will be any airside shuttles between KLIA 1 and 2 but at least the train will go all the way, even if it does mean its likely to be full before it gets to the "premium" terminal.

Sounds like a nightmare for those who will be travelling next month. Makes the Tune KLIA LCC hotel a long way away.

Point taken but according to this site - About KLIA2, what is KLIA2, where is KLIA2, when is KLIA2 ready | Malaysia KLIA2

"The KLIA2 is built to be Malaysia's Next Generation Hub - International Airport Hub - that allows seamless connectivity for both local and international low-cost plus full-service carriers."

Quite a few good B&Bs close to KLIA that are actually cheaper than the dogboxes (comfy beds though!) at the LCCT's Tune. Spose that's little consolation for those with prepaid bookings at the Tune from 9 May ..

I'm flying with AirAsia on the 3rd and 4th May so I just miss out on KLIA2, was looking forward to checking it out too.

I believe that they were building a new Tune hotel near KLIA2, one of the main reasons I decided to avoid it on this trip as I wasn't sure what the standards would be like there if they were planning on closing it down within in a week or so.

Please be informed that our brand new Tune Hotel KLIA2 will begin operations on 9 May 2014.
All bookings made up until the 8 May 2014 (stay date) will remain at the current Tune Hotel LCCT.
All guests are required to check in at Tune Hotel KLIA2 from 9 May 2014 onwards.

Zamri's Big Fat Blog: KLIA2: Airport in Mall, or Mall in Airport?

Some of the smaller airlines have already started using it, Air Asia and AirAsiaX move in on 9-May, although some flights will arrive into klia2 on 8-May

Seemingly the Plaza Premium lounge is not finished as AirAsia is refunding Red Carpet for 6 weeks.

Skybus services are moving to klia2, although I suspect for most of us it will be worthwhile paying the small extra (35 RMB versus 10RMB - ie about A$7) for the train which will be a good 30min quicker.
