Hi

I'm considering getting a New Zealand, preferably Auckland, based TA to book a One World RTW ticket. We might also get them to book some other things here and there.

Any recommendations for a TA or suggestions to do otherwise would be appreciated. I think I've already done most of the hard work on some itinerary options that meet the rules but it be good to have an expert on our side when it comes to actually booking the ticket.

Hi Serfty, Thanks for those links. I'll have a closer look. I've found this site very helpful over the last couple of months, along with the rule sheet, looking at itinerary options and had looked at booking direct but not with AA. I had planned our LONE4 (can't afford D, AKL-SCL-IPC-SCL GYE-GPS-GYE CCS-MAD-CAI-AMM-DXB-LHR-NBO JNB-SYD-AKL) on the one world planner and had gone as far through the booking process to getting a price from Qantas NZ with taxes.

I was hoping to leave some sectors open, but couldn't see how to do that by a direct booking. As well as this we might have a few extra flights during our surface sectors. I normally prefer to be a DIY traveler but as we're away for 7 months I thought it might be handy to have a TA.

If you use LA for the 1st sector, you can get LA to issue the ticket and they are good at not having fuel fines too

Might be worth giving them a call on 02 9244 2333

I also believe that they have no fine for wanting to book over the phone either so could be the cheapest option

I would not put open sectors in; just put a date in the future for the sectors which you are unsure of and bring them forward as needed. There is no charge for date changes but if you do go for open sectors you will likely need to have paper tickets and this can make life a lot more hassle if wanting to make changes

I cannot see that using a TA for this will be of any benefit
