Thanks Admin, but why do I have to put in my PIN? Not happy to do that.

Like Awardwallet and others the system logs in and updates info as a robot on your behalf without a PIN it would obviously be useless

I think my solution achieves a middle ground, between keeping the status up to date at regular intervals, and doesn't store the PIN.

Oh do let me know when an actual status match ACTUALLY happens. .......

Keep an eye in the announcements section, the facility was developed as a result of an actual approach FWIW, I expect airlines will do similar things in the future as social media is increasingly taking up more of an airlines marketing budget. Southwest just opened up an ops centre dedicated to keeping their eye on the social media pulse.

It wouldn't meet airlines requirements as they require a current status, not one months old.

Correct, which is why I mentioned this: "Or better still maybe AFF site can read the status expiry date and only ask after this date. "

If it can read the status, then it should be able to read other elements like renewal/expiry date..

True, but its very rare for a date of your current status expiry to go backwards?

Anyway just trying to suggest an alternative, many of us treat our FF PIN as securely as our Online banking passwords, considering they can contain lots of value..
Hell even a lot of people including myself were dubious to even use PoLi!

All suggestions welcome of course, and I have no issues with people being hesitant, in fact I think its wise, which of course is why the facility on offer is optional and just another tool to use if a member see's value.

Fair enough, I don't think this is much different to Award Wallet or Tripit Pro.

Neither of which I completed the sign up due to the fact. I do admit to releasing one password for a certain program who asked for Beta testers, but then again, I had met the person on a number of occasions and trust him and the particular account had few points to lose.

I think the idea of passwords is to keep your account to yourself, not share with faceless companies or programs. Having said that, I still see a benefit which is only offered to members who are prepared to breach basic security. The flip side is that those who are cautious and heed all sound security advice of keeping passwords secret, miss out.

This tool doesn't seem very reliable. One day it shows my VA status, the next day my QF status, rarely both together. The QF status inexplicably disappeared for most of December. I haven't had any hints of any status-based offers so I'm wondering if it's worth using the tool at all.

I don't need to look up Virgin as I am safely in the Red status. Having a pile of their points has supplied us with points redemptions in business class.
I still wonder if anyone uses their Any Seat option as the points needed seem totally ridiculous or am I missing something?

I've done a VA any seat. Can't remember why, now. But the price wasn't completely stupid IIRC.

I did one domestically when I needed the sectors and was points-rich. I think the international ones look very poor value
