Did the same trip six weeks ago except DOH-MNL was on QR932 with QSuites (a later night departure - I connected on QR246 from IST on an ex Cathay 777 which had somewhat dated J class).

Another plus point: The salt and pepper on Qatar is not paper sachets, nor is it shakers .. it is actually cute salt and pepper grinders ! See photo.

And you missed a treat with the congee .. I had king crab congee (same menu) and it looked and tasted great.

and here is a photo of the sea bass main from the dinner menu -- I counted 9 "elements" - it had really great presentation - and of course taste!

That looks like 1st class rather than business, what extra do they do to differentiate between the two?

Fantastic in Flight experience. Extremely poor ground/admin experience. Recently booked A380 business class. Months went by. Qatar changed the plane to 777-300ER without telling passengers. Despite paying for seat selection, no seat was allocated on the new plane (why bother to pay $200 to choose your seat??). With only weeks to go before flying, my companion and I had to book seats at completely different areas of the cabin, as all other seats had been taken.
We couldn't often get up to talk to each other as there was turbulence. Sydney to Doha is a long flight.
This isn't the first time either. Last year, my husband paid for his upgrade. On arriving at check-in, was told there were no seats left. We had tried contacting Qatar Airways often once we realised online check-in couldn't be completed. It's hard to reach them when you're in Greece. We fly every year to Europe from Australia and almost every year Qatar make drastic (for the passenger) changes WITHOUT NOTIFYING THE PAYING CUSTOMER! Ground staff were not very kind or helpful either.
Finally, when plane was fully boarded, a seat was found for him. No refund was offered or given despite contacting customer service.
This exceptionally poor back office experience reflects very badly on the airline.
Shame.
