OK, I stand corrected, sorry. There *is* actually a virus that displays those exact sites, which is disappointing. Presumably they're particularly lucrative.

i refuse to turn off my ad blocker. i can live w refreshing the page every few secs and visit this site not as frequently.

You could temporarily turn it off whilst trying to log in, then switch it on once done. Turning off ad blockers can usually be achieved in 1-2 clicks in most situations.

That said, there should either be a login page without ads on it (so not triggering the ad blocker guard), or the login fields and button should be visible and usable even if the ad blocker guard is visible.

If you always log in from the same page, you could whitelist that specific page, then it wouldn't pop up.

Was thinking the same. It's easy to whitelist certain pages.

What AFF could also do is soft log-in a member (global user cookie) so they see pages as if they're logged in on their status level, but can't make any meaningful actions without fully authenticating.
