AFF Member Stock Discussion

So Woodside did get their extension while we were away.
Have been buying more Vita Life Sciences which is VLS. We are now higher up in the shareholders list. Have had to compete with their share buyback which has just restarted.Their net profit was down in 2024 because their tax went up.
Have five entitlements to Aspen’s SPP at $2.90 when their shares are around $3.40.
Generation Development which is GDG jumped to $5.50 while we flew home.
We are awake at 2 am because of jet lag.
Is anyone going to the Sydney frequent flyer meeting on September 6th?

Judges in the USA are either elected or politically appointed usually
OT but I used to think that electing judges was bizarre; now thinking more towards that it may be preferable to politically appointed as in au.

Edit, latest - appeal court reinstated tariffs, interim

No we passed on the MXT issue as we were flying and so I didn’t read the document that several brokers sent us.
We had lots of exploration hopefuls doing placements during the 17 days we were away but didn’t bother with them.
We had a company change its name to West Coast Silver while we were away. Silver is much harder than gold to make money from mining.

Growth and dividend for VLS. They are dealing with more than $20 million in cash so they are doing share buyback and dividends. It is a good problem to have. Sales up 8% and they are changing their approach in China.

I ran out of oompf today due to jet lag so I haven’t finished taking up the APZ (Aspen) shares at $2.90.
We read seekingalpha , Wall Street journal, Bloomberg, ny times and la times to have a reasonable idea of what may be going on.
@Quickstatus we looked up our progress on Vita Life Sciences in Sharesight and we are up about 25% plus dividends so yes it is capital growth plus dividends.Am trying to get to a holding with two commas but sellers have dried up this week.

The rise and rise of TLS. Up again today, on a down day, and after recently warning of a possible reduction in the 100% franking rate.
Amazing.
Edit... maybe the buyback pushing it up

Often the stock market gets it wrong where some stocks get hammered and others have dream runs. CBA and TLS have had dream runs.
We have both SOL and BKW so today was a good day for us.
The Resimac dividend announcement was unexpected.

Ok now we get to the Bain Capital offer of Virgin Air shares. Looks like they will try to do it in stages so the first stage could be attractive. This is not financial advice……

Yes @Mr_Orange the number two bust caught us with worthless shares. We haven’t forgotten that.
We have business accounts with both Qantas and Virgin. When Qantas want a ridiculous price for us to fly to Sydney or Melbourne from Perth we fly on Virgin.
We have made money on Rex, Qantas and Virgin in the past but that doesn’t mean this one is going to be a winner.

I am smarting after my declaration on this thread that I was selling TLS at $4.11 just 2-3 months ago saying I doubted it would move much. I hope some of you took that as an endorsement.

I have recently tightened my stop loss based on the current price level and as a precaution against my theory that the chart is very bullish being incorrect.
