AFF Gathering #7 at HBA on 29 November - 1 December

After viewing the Social Calendar at home, found that there was a clash with my daughters Tap & Jazz end-of-year function on Saturday.

Needless to say, I thought better than asking Mrs QF WP whether I'd be able to come on AFF#7. Discretion is the better part of valour - to miss the look of distain and ascerbic tongue is highly appropriate.

Thats a pity, though understandable.

WOWSERS, Accommodation is drying up, especially on Saturday night.

Henry Jones Art Hotel is sold out on Saturday, so I have made a booking at The Old Woolstore (The "last" room).

I should have an adequately sized apartment to host after dinner beverages for the well behaved attendees in the list.

Yeah it was getting hard to find somewhere that wasn't outrageous.

To gwilli1 in particular - I've made occasional noises about coming home early from a business trip and perhaps hosting a wine tasting drive up the East Coast on the Friday. Final word from my paymasters: 'no' .

Good luck gwilli1 on the drive up the coast. Try to get to wineries Spring Vale, Freycinet (its the one at the end of the road, not the one on the turn-off; this will make sense when you get there) and Milton at least.

(That's 8 of us paid).

I am in discussion with Lark Distillery for a Sunday tour. The tour lasts about an hour, and should cost $15. It is in the city, so walking distance from brunch. They do not normally do Sunday tours, but then I told them who I was. The tour would be about 12noon-ish as they have a function later in the day. This will very much depend on numbers if it can go ahead, however I am yet to get a definite minimum number (hope to by tomorrow)

Is there enough interest for me to pursue this?

I'm not particularly interested, but would happily go along to make up numbers if required.

Sunday Golf Activity.

We are reviewing the options for a Sunday golf activity (18 holes). Can you please advise IF YOU ARE interested (don't need to post if not). This would be a Sunday morning activity and would take the whole morning, meaning you may miss out on other Sunday activities.

At this stage I think it will just be 1 or 2 of us, but I know many have expressed interest several months ago. Ideally we would have 2-3 playing groups (8-12 players). If it is just me, I will probably leave the clubs at home and follow the group.

Cancelled :!: :(

I will discuss with dad when Bigpond fixes the internet and Energex turns the power for the neighbourhood back on.

It would be good to have a round with you both :)

Would golf be finished in time for (say) a 1pm distillery tour?

Depends which course we go to and when we tee off. It would be possible, especially if we start early.
