Definitely agree with having multiple days for MR. Even if we make it a 12-hour day trip, we would still spend more time on the bus than at the wineries. Failing that, a day trip to Swan Valley might work. And away from the alcohol, perhaps a day trip to Rottnest Island as well but we might need to book early if we want the bus tour (or something similar), otherwise we would need to rely on our own peddle power.

I figured if Perth was chosen, MR would definitely be out! I'd definitely like to see a Quokka too! :p

Just giving this a bump and a quick reminder , there is now only 2 days left to vote for the location for AFF #10.

Although looking at how many votes we've had in the past few years, I think this is pretty much as many votes as we'll get and the results mostly finalised except for waiting for the clock to finish up.

Yep......it looks like PER will be it unless there's a late run left in DRW!

Perth. But it depends upon dates. Also my proposed ZQN wine tour on MEL cup weekend might be an issue for some

I will be in PER the 12th -14th October 2016.
So if the AFF gathering is the weekend of the 15th. Or the 8th. I'm in.
I had my first visit there this year. Perth city I thought was great. I loved MR too. There is plenty to see and do.

Folks, bear in mind that there is a public holiday in WA on Monday 26 Sept. 2016 (the delayed Queen's Birthday - which clashes with our Labour Day in June).

The following Monday (3 October) is the Labour Day holiday the rest of Australia (or most of it).

By rest of Australia, I think you mean NSW, ACT and SA... for 2016, QLD's Labour day is moving back to May Day. (For some reason, our Treasurer, my local member, thinks that having no public holidays between June and December* "would better spread public holidays across the calendar year..". Go figure.). Queensland Labour Day public holiday to be moved back to May - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

*Not counting Ekka Show Day in August or Gold Coast show holiday in September etc.

Actually, hang on, I just realised they've moved Queen's Birthday in QLD from June to the October date. So now we will have Easter, Anzac Day and Labour Day all in quick succession, and then Queen's Birthday in October.

John, we will have to vote for a weekend where we both can easily attend.
