I was dreaming of waking up on Hamilton Island looking over the water at sunset, having a drink or four at the swim up bar, and a cruise to Whitehaven Beach to walk along the pure silicone sand with a can in hand, I thought do I really need another city visit?, yet I do like Perth and especially Freo.

Hamilton Island, was there just after it was built, met the great man Keith as he was helping workers dig holes for palm trees.

PER and DRW both sound good.

Not sure whether voting was a good idea as I don't get a chance to many AFF events.

Anyway voted for DRW. Will depend on dates chosen as my calendar for 2016 is pretty full already.

Geez.. this is tough... I've got work I can do on Hamilton Island and in Perth which make them more attractive (that and Hamilton Island is Hamilton Island.. I'll say hello to it for everyone tomorrow :) ).. but I have never been to Darwin...
Decisions, decisions...
By the way before everyone gets too excited.. not all planes to PER are A330s anymore (for VA or QF).. Last time I came back on a 737...

I am determined to attend next year. I voted for PER because it is likely to be held later in the year than DRW, the ALF footy season rules our calendar. However, I would be equally happy with attending in either PER or DRW if the dates fit our schedule.

Voted DRW as I have not been there. Also, I have attended all AFF Gatherings (think I'm the only one to have done so now) and mid October almost always has a clashing event which requires me juggling and shuffling things, and some compromises, in order to make the AFF do.

PER having multiple HH properties in 2017 makes it an attractive proposition for that year rather than 2016.

If my plan goes ahead, I could be in South America then but if not, I'm happy with all the 3 that have been suggested. :p

Same here.......which is exactly why I didn't choose HTI! I can just imagine it...."oh, while you're here, would you mind just doing......" Ah, no. I have been to many AFF related functions, but never yet a "gathering" so I have no intention of working at one!

PER having multiple HH properties in 2017 makes it an attractive proposition for that year rather than 2016.

I think this is a very compelling reason as well. FTR, I chose DRW.

Can I suggest the runner up location be the location for AFF Gathering #11 in 2017? :)

I've been to both PER and DRW this year, and PER seems more interesting for a revisit, hence my vote for it. Although I think the final deciding factor would be DRW having multiple Hilton group properties while PER having only 1 (in 2016). But if we go to PER in 2017 instead, we would find 2 new DTs there, plus another DT in Freo. I'm not a HH member but quite a few of us are.

You present a good case for PER to be the host city in 2017!
I agree that it does make DRW in 2016 and PER in 2017 seem logical.

I don't seem to be able to vote, however DRW would be good, I haven't been there.

I'll send you my Swiss bank account details. :D
At the risk of sounding like an old fart, that quip reminds me of the old Bob Hudsons Newcastle song......"Don't you ever let a chance go by oh Lord, don't you ever let a chance go by"! A motto Sepp lives by, it would seem...............

There is a Hyatt in Perth which isn't going anywhere, so less of a consideration for me.

So people actually select the location by the number of HH properties? Lol and I thought I have my golden handcuffs on :p

My vote goes to PER although it only has one loungeless Hilton in town. At least can fly there is style :D
