I will be on the Gold Coast (Jupiters and the Gold Coast Convention Centre) for the Financial Planners Association Annual Conference on Thursday and Friday (17th & 18th).

I started to organise a meet with Russell Corr and have now been contacted by PressPhotog who'll be on the Gold Coast as well. Willyroo may be at the Conference, so he may join us as well (he has a voicemail).

Anybody else going to be on the Gold Coast, or live there and are available? Details of our meet are:

Date: Friday, 18 November
Time: 5.45pm
Place: Lobby Lounge, Jupiters Hotel & Casino

In addition, for those in BNE, I may be on the Channel 7, 9 or 10 News tonight. Look for a story on Skin Cancer Action Week. As a cancer survivor, I was interviewed. I'm the human interest/face for the Qld Cancer Fund's focus for 2005 (Men Under 40). Then you'll know I really do exist (but lucky to be here)...

Alternatively, if you were listening to 612 ABC Radio this morning after the 9am news, you would have heard me as I was interviewed live...

Thanks to Sabrina and Ruth from the Qld Cancer Fund...they are darlings. BTW, go and get yourself checked out by a doctor everybody...

Looks like attendee list is growing:

I'll be there

* QF WP
* Russell Corr
* Press Photog

Possible's

* bravoecho

Apologies

* Willyroo (has to head back to BNE because of family reasons :wink: ).

I did last week. All clear - thankfully. Just a few "age" spots. Probably why I don't qualify for the under 40 brigade anymore :cry:.

As you know, Mrs NM had a level 1 melanoma removed a few years back, so we are very conscious of the risks. Not as good a scar (or scare) as yours, though :p .

I have many many times and he said "you don't need to worry about skin cancer until you are at least 200". :shock:

I then asked him "can you guarantee that I will live to see 200?". He just looked at me :roll: and then said "no" :(

Saw the Channel 7 report. Great hat! Is that your hat or did someone provide it for you to wear for the interview? I was expecting something more like this. Then again, for maximum protection, perhaps one of these. Or for those wanting less protection, there is always this option :oops: . Of course I know someone who has one of these.

And the scar seems to have healed well 8) .

Just saw it now on Ten.

Seeing Lindsay on the news while posting messages on the FF website at the same time. Hmm... maybe I need to get out more!

NM, I think I will buy the last option!

I really feel like I've missed out on something tonight.

First I miss Lindsay at a previous QP meet, then I miss him when the Airbus comes to town, then I miss him on Tv!

Hmmm. I think I'm destined to never meet (or at least see) any AFF/FT members.

(Actually, I think I did meet one FT member in Bris F lounge once. We didn't identify each other at the time, but from later postings I realised that we probably did meet!)

Hmmm, I wan't posting concurrently...by the Late News on Channel 10, I was asleep and didn't post at all last night on either AFF or FT.

It did make Channels 7, 9 and 10 news (for 10 news it was on both the 6pm and Late News with Sandra Sully), as well as Skynews. Haven't seen whether it was picked up by the Courier Mail today yet (as AAP were there as well).

Mal, we will meet. I think AFF is ready for some get-togethers (like I started on FT). This is the first toe in the water. When I'm on my trips around Australia in the next 3 months, I'll be organising more where I can (read - have free time at night).

Lindsay, I meant me. I was on the FF website at the time I saw you on TV.

Great idea Lindsay Wilson. Sorry no dice for me (pardon the pun), but I look forward to the next time we can hopefully put handles to faces :D .

It was good to catch up again with Russell Corr - unfortunately Press Photog had work to finish and bravoecho couldn't make it at the last minute.
