AFF bingo

I only come up with a pretty measly 5 matches in total. But at least I do seem to one of the few people who have had the 'pleasure' of using an airport in Pakistan. Karachi in my case - and a bigger dump of a place you would be unlikely to find. Thanks British Caledonian..

Oh wait… BINGO!

I didn’t realise SQ’s 787s were 787-10s!

So I would have:

787-10 (SQ)

Karachi (back in the days of multi stops to europe on the 707/747)

DC3 (TAA charity flights)

737-300 (Australian airlines, among others

Greek Airline (Olympic)

How do I find out what type of plane I was on? I have no idea about the Saab 340 and Boeing 747-8. I've been on lots of 747's but no idea about the hyphenated number at the end. I could get 2nd horizontal row. Or 5th vertical row if I could confirm the plane types. Most of my more unusual trips were in the 90's and early 2000's.
748s were the last model and only flown by Lufthansa and Korean AFAIK.

Saab 340 is the coal fired turbo prop flown by Rex (and their prior incarnations). A few of us here would have ticked that box decades ago during AN days.

I’m surprised there are few claiming an Indonesian airline. My first ever trip to Bali was a domestic return trip and then again SYD-DPS on a half empty Garuda 767 flight in the early 90s (when QANTAS had a thing going with them - flew home on a QF 747).

Air China is another operator of the 747-8.

I’m surprised at the mention of Garuda 767s! Never knew they had them! Apparently they had 17, all leased, between 2002-2012 and used for Hajj charter flights.

Australia might have been served by the A300? They were flying A330s from around 1997 or so.

Yes, it could have been an A300.

It was early ‘90s in a 2-?-2 seating configuration in whY.

I suspect the Indonesian is because there's still stigma carried on from when the whole industry there was the wild west and anything goes (old badly maintained planes flew etc). And there were fatal accidents, many of them.

2-4-2 in Y would have been it!
Or 2-3-2 on a 767.

I was on the side in two with a friend but the flight was very empty. Don’t know why we didn’t grab a middle row each!

Anyway, also Greek airlines - anyone who went to the islands before fast ferries probably flew Olympic! We also had a flight during the BA catering strike…

That’s a good question, the 767s for the Hajj may have actually been in a 2-4-2 ultra high density!

But given they weren’t in the fleet until 2002, safe to rule that out 😆
